I did not have too much time to walk around for sightseeing as I was on work trip but from what I saw it is one beautiful city with a beautiful old town. I really wanted to stay one day more and if I had a chance I will go back.

Gorlitz is a stunning city with very friendly people.
Gorlitz is a stunning city with very friendly people. Unlike many German cities, Gorlitz was spared destruction in WWII, though forty years of neglect during the DDR took a toll. A concerted effort was made to restore and renovate, rather than rebuild, resulting in a time capsule. Around every corner there is a view that transports the visitor to the past. It is no wonder that Gorlitz is often used by film makers to represent the likes of Berlin or Budapest. Located on the German-Polish border, indeed, divided by the frontier when the map of Europe was redrawn after the war, Gorlitz is off the beaten path, but well worth seeking out by the discerning traveller.

Beautiful city but what surprised me was that many places only took cash. It reminded me of Germany 10 years ago. Even the museum only took cash. I had a hard time finding any place to eat for lunch around the city center. Nothing opened until after 5:30pm. I finally settled on cake on coffee just to have something to eat. The many cobbled streets make walking hard if you have problems. At the time, I had a sore knee, but what else do you expect when you visit an old town?

This town is proper for old architecture lovers - there are a lot of (approx. 4000 according to Wiki) historical objects. In the town zoo you can buy a book with these buildings and discover them.
Btw the Zoo is fine place where you can find Red Panda and many other species, some of them (parrots, squirrels) you can see in very close contact because some areas were designed without barriers. There is also a part which is dedicated to Tibetan culture (copies of houses, live animals etc.) - very impressive.
Advent time is very nice for visit, because there are 17 days of street markets where you can taste typical products (glühwein, punsch, bratwurst etc.) and skate on the ice rink.

Terrific small city, an architectural gem, the 90-minute walking tour barely scratches the surface of noteworthy sights, especially buildings and interiors, so well preserved from as long ago as the 16th century or even earlier. I wish I had stayed several days more, especially to see more of the lovely countryside.

The old town is beautifully restored and easy to walk around. It is about 10km from Insel der Sinne. Plenty to do at the Insel der Sinne - biking around the lake, water sports and a very nice spa but Gorlitz itself a "must see".
Clean and cozy room, comfortable bed, all classic amenities in the room. Good food in the hotel restaurant and farelly priced as in any other place we saw in old town. Parking available in the back yard and accessible through the elevator for only simbolic charge.
We were travelling with a dog, the first hotel were we found treats, bowl and a blanket waiting in the room for our friend.
It's as if the hotel possessed a special knack for delivering pleasant surprises, masterfully turning ordinary moments into beautiful memories. This stay reminded me that it's not just about finding a place to sleep, but rather, it's about the kindness, attention to detail, and the heartfelt touches that transform a simple stay into an extraordinary experience.
From the reception to departure, staff went above and beyond. The room was spotless, comfortable. We asked for a change of room due to a recent injury and were given a room on 1st flr. Breakfast was an unexpected luxury. The only reason the noise level was high is the fact we were right on a main road. Not the hotels fault at all. With ear plugs, all was good.
Nice hotel in the historical old town and a few minutes walk from the footbridge to Poland. The historical building has only recently been converted into a hotel in a beautiful way. Everything, the doors, the furniture, the lamps, etc., is new but in a beautiful retro style. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Absolutely wonderful place with amazing staff, making the stay as peaceful and problem-free as possible. The lake is very clean, the private hotel beaches with white sand make it feel luxurious. The hotel offers SUPs and bikes (for additional fees), which allows you to stay active during the holiday.
The location is very convenient if you want to stroll around the old town, and is also very close to the two bridges over to the Polish side. The hotel offers parking in the basement, which is opportune for guests arriving by car. The rooms are also very pleasant with agreeable colours and furniture.
Breakfast was great. The staff was great. The room was a bit cold and the shower water was only lukewarm that night although it heated up well enough by the morning. I suspect it is because heating is so expensive. I liked the parking. It was open and not under a building.
Good location near to autobahn, but in good distance to be quiet, big comfy bed, proper fridge. Building is new, clean I’ts American style road motel, every room has separate entrance from parking. View from windows is corn field, it’s relaxing.
Beautiful hotel, with charm and character. We loved it right away. Exceptional location. Great restaurant indoor and outdoor on a spectacular historical square. Large, well-appointed, calm, bright room. Comfortable hotel with necessary amenities
Right off the Oder-Neisse Radweg in a charming old mill on the River. Good sized room; nice staff; great breakfast; locked bicycle storage in a separate cycle room. No lift to upper floors. Long but delightful walk to central Gorlitz.
Perfect location in the old town. Nice hotel.
Friendly staff who helped us with bike rental.
It was possible to park in the hotel car park a short distance from the hotel (you could drive to the hotel and drop off your luggage)
The apt is clean and beautiful, close to city center snd all the attractions we want to visit, a great breakfast buffet with nice selection! My whole family enjoyed it! We will surely visit again when we go to Görlitz!
Extremely attentive and friendly host and lovely breakfast buffet in a beautiful dining room.
The hotel room itself is really big and clean and even though there is no air conditioning, it kept a cool climate.
History book hotel. Cleanly modernized but maintaining architectural authenticity. Amazing breakfast. Parking was within a secure hotel garage. Perfect location for late night wandering in the old town.
