Daniela was the best host ever - nothing was too much trouble. We had trouble sorting our bus tickets and she gave up her evening to help. The house was small but had everything you needed as we spent most of our time outside in the evening. The location is very rural, and lovely and quiet, just above an authentic village which was not overrun by tourists. You can pick fresh lemons from their trees whenever you want and tiny lizards dart around the garden. We didn’t have a car and Daniela arranged a taxi for us and our luggage from the bus stop when we arrived, but it is only a 15 minute walk down to the bus stop or the ferry stop and the village. We visited Minori and Maiori (the lemon walk is beautiful), Amalfi and Positano on the ferry from Cetara. Also got the SITA bus to Salerno (bus packed - don’t recommend) and the train from there to Pompeii. Got a Pintour bus from Naples airport directly to Cetara for 20 euros per person. Recommend this place if you don’t mind hills and are looking for a quiet escape.

We stayed at Stella Maris House in Cetara and had a wonderful time. The apartment is very cute, with two comfortable bedrooms and was spotlessly clean. The host met us when we arrived, showed us everything, and gave excellent recommendations for local restaurants—she was so kind and welcoming and even gifted us lemons from her garden. We made fresh lemon water everyday. The location is ideal, just a short walk to the town center, bus station, and harbour. Cetara is a peaceful and authentic village, mostly visited by Italian tourists, which made it a relaxing escape from the bustle of Amalfi or Positano. We took the local bus and the ferries to get around. We very much enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it!
