The natural hot spring, as well as the onsen baths, feature what might be the most breathtaking view I have ever had the pleasure to experience. You feel like you are in the Shikotsuko lake, rather than in front of it. The service, staff, room equipment were absolutely spotless, and the irori kaiseki dinner we had was just A++ marks on all fronts, environment included. The fact that you cannot take pictures of the onsen except during the first 20 minutes of the cleaning shift adds to the magic, making it an experience during which you must and want to be completely aware, to take it in to the fullest and engrave the scenery in your memory.

Really nice resort, beautiful room, excellent (and not too heavy) dinner, plus good and varied breakfast spread. There is an excellent harp performance in the evening (and marshmallow toasting). The resort also has vending machines (beer and soft drinks), a pastry shop and a bar, plus a great gym (with gym wear and shoes which can be borrowed). The onsen facilities are excellent. The room private outdoor bath is also superb. The staff are all super nice. There is also a free shuttle service so you can go there even without a car.

Very spacious room, with a huge bed. The onsen was not on site, but in the nearby town, for which we got free entry. Even though it is quiet due to the location in a forest, the walls had sound-proofing, making it a very relaxing experience. Huge breakfast with a lot of local variety.

I really enjoyed staying here because it's close to the airport and it's easy to get to it within 22 minutes by bus. It's very convenient to cook rice and meals in the kitchen. I liked the sunny living room and the fresh air through the opening Windows. It's clean,cozy and comfortable. I will stay here again next time!

Wonderful place to stay very comfortable and all services. Owner was very friendly, he prepared the house to us, removed the snow and put heater. Incredibly kitchen full equipped. And all house extremely clean.

This place is just wonderful and it exceeded our expectations in all areas. The Onsen is gorgeous and we also had one in our room, which was fabulous. The Italian dinner was exceptional. All of us--3 adults--agreed, that we would stay here again. The town is quaint and the lake an mountains are spectacular.
