Accommodation in Nikko

Nice Hotel had good onsen experience. I took the dinner and breakfast buffet and there were plenty of options and the food tasted good. Definitely added to the experience so I would recommend it. Rooms are nice and spacious will all kinds of amenities. I loved the green tea cups and experience in the room. Was charming. Its about 15mins walk from train station so wasn't too bad. I was a but concerned reading the reviews while booking. While old school the hotel wasn't too shabby.

The staff is nice, I lost my headphones at the train station, they helped to contact the station and found it. They also have snow shoe spikes and slider to rent out in winter, but we didn't know it until the day we leave.

It was one of the best places I’ve been to I. Japan where I can forget about everything and just relax.

Everything was SO perfect. The room was big and in a mint state, the Onsen was very nice but the best was the staff. We went there in during our honeymoon and they even sent us a dessert gift the first night. Very friendly and helpful. Thanks for making our stay amazing.

The room is basic but has everything needed for a one-night stay. The bed is not very large. Amenities are included. What really stands out—and what we highly recommend—is having both breakfast and dinner at the hotel. The chef prepares everything deliciously with fresh, local ingredients, and his friendliness makes a big difference. There are no convenience stores nearby. Keep in mind that it’s about a 14-minute walk from the bus station.

We had a wonderful stay at Hoshino Yado Ryokan. The kaiseki dinner was exceptional - every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Breakfast was equally impressive, with a great variety of carefully prepared dishes that made for a perfect start to the day. The private onsen was fantastic, providing a relaxing and peaceful experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and professional throughout our stay, making us feel genuinely cared for. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we would happily stay here again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a traditional ryokan experience with outstanding food and hospitality.

They offer free breakfast (limited options) but I did not have it, great location, very friendly staff.

Fairfield in Nikko was an exceptional stay for me, when compared to some other accommodations in Japan, especially due to the room's size, which was definitely on the larger side. The amenities looked brand new to me, as the entire hotel did. I also enjoyed the common spaces which have tasteful design and the outdoor space / terrace with the mountain view.

Great location, wonderful onsen

This stunning hotel has a private onsen for rent in addition to its public pools for its quests (indoor+ open air with view, jacuzzi,sauna). They are also tattoo friendly! The rooms are traditional Japanese tatami and they make the beds/take them away for you. They have a game room (billiards, pingpong table etc). The dinner shabushabu was excellent!

There are free drinks and great hangout areas! The onsen was great too

This hotel was amazing, the bed was comfortable, the room was big enough for me, the view from my room was simply incredible. Location was great too, and a konbini across the street? Score.

It was a very pleasant experience. The hostess was very friendly, prepared breakfast for us, talked a lot. The hotel is located in a very good and quiet place. We found a good laundry nearby.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I particularly liked the heating mattress.

It was large and clean. The location was great for us, a. Short walk with our two suitcases from the train station. There was a 7 eleven and a local supermarket within a few minutes walk. We the local coffee ar fab we found near the train station call Kichin. The staff are lovely and the coffee is really good..
