The house itself was very nice and spacious. The common areas were pretty and clean. There was a large window overlooking some woods and a stream which was quite nice to sit in front of.

I love this place--and I can't remember the last time I wrote that on a booking.com review. Brand new wooden cabins squeezed in a tight valley in the middle of the woods, next to a little stream of water. The lodges owner lives in a cabin next door, warm welcome and always willing to help. The cabin was squeaky clean, had everything I could desire and even more (a piano!). The private onsen is a few steps away from the cabin, if you want something more social there's plenty of public onsens around (one down the road has a view on the river). Quiet, fresh air, plenty of hikes a short drive away. I stayed in the middle of winter, heating and thermal insulations were on point.

This is by far my best hotel experience in Japan. The hosts are extremely responsive, the 3 baths are amazing, I will definitely plan my next trip here

Very special setting, the house designed by Toyo Ito is a real masterpiece. Every detail is a pearl gem and it is very exciting to spend the night in such a place!

The service staff were incredibly kind, attentive and hospitable. Rooms were clean and spacious and opened out into a garden on the property with lovely autumn foliage. Was also great that there were various options for onsen baths. Breakfast and dinner were provided, both meals were consistently delicious.

A very beautiful Onsen with amazing staff! They really make you feel very welcome and very special. The staff would always catch up for a chat and went out of their way to give us little extras on many occasions!

If you are on a Fukuoka road trip, you absolutely must stay a night here! Extremely comfortable and cosy, and there's a Konbini up the road for all your food and drink needs.

This is a cozy, cabin-style property in a rustic village in a beautiful part of Japan. The bedrooms were warm and cozy, the upstairs one required climbing a steep stair. Both adults and our children aged 6-12 loved the place and enjoyed its charm. The cabin has a wifi, modern Japanese toilets with heated seats and a small kitchen on a terrace. The village has onsen nearby and the water in the property was among the best in the world. The host is incredibly generous and fantastic guide with good English. He made our stay truly memorable and showed us some hidden gems around. Definitely recommended for people looking to experience the rustic side of Japan.
