Surrounded by 860 private acres of tropical rainforest and featuring an on-site lake, a swimming pool, a sun terrace and games room, Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails is located within the Arenal Conservation Area, only 2.7 km from the Arenal Volcano. The location was absolutely stunning with amazing views of the Arenal volcano and lake. We loved the various hiking trails, one even led to a water fall where you could swim, so bring your swim suits! We saw so much wild-life nearby on our walks including coyotes, toucans and monkeys. The room was spacious and very comfortable. We loved every meal and found the staff to be super friendly and helpful, wish we could have stayed longer!

The view was amazing. The breakfast offered a huge variety of delicious food. The pizza by the pool was delicious. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom with large plan and skylight was lovely. The buggy to and from reception was a lovely touch.

You can also enjoy a cocktail at the relaxing swim-up Lemnos Wet Bar by the seasonal outdoor pool. Amazing place, we'll definitely want to visit again. So beautiful and the hot springs were gorgeous. We stayed there for almost 3 weeks with our 1 year old baby. Some of the pools were chlorine free which was perfect for us and for the baby. The pools were all in different temperature so we could easily find a fitting one for our baby. The restaurant was great with some vegan options, affordable prices just slightly more expansive than downtown. The staff was so kind, they even bought our baby a birthday gift for his one year old celebration. Little souvenirs shop with cute things. One of the best views to the volcano. Comfortable beds. Plenty of storage place. Warmly recommended! Either with your partner, children or just even for a day entry to the hot springs. Loved the place and beautiful views of Arenal volcano when I first woke up and open the curtains. Veronica, the receptionist was very kind and always ready to help when we needed something. Wifi worked well, mattress very comfortable, breakfast was good (served in the nearby hotel).

Watching the hummingbirds and the other birds was a delight. The grounds are lovely. The location is close to the road to the waterfall and so out of the hustle and bustle. Everything was perfect. Thank you. This place is a little gem and very good value.
