On arrival check in was smooth and staff very helpful - the hotel has a traditional feel, and was our first hotel of the holiday and a brilliant introduction to Japan. It was one of our favourite places to stay. Loved all the facilities, the room, the hotel pajama sets, the breakfast, the onsen was absolutely amazing and open right through the early hours, massage chairs. Location perfect. A really fantastic experience and we returned at the end of our trip which felt like going home.

I stayed at tokyonest, a small hotel located within a 5-minute walk from either the North or South Exit of Nippori Station. The route from the North Exit is more straightforward, while the South Exit requires crossing the street and is slightly less direct. The front desk staff were very friendly and explained everything clearly at check-in. After 9:00 PM, the front desk is closed, and amenities, coffee, and the luggage storage area are no longer available. However, guests can still enter and exit the hotel easily using their key cards. There is a self-service laundry room and vending machines on the first floor. The room was simple, clean, and bright. We didn’t cook during our stay, so I can’t comment on the kitchen facilities. What I appreciated most about this area is that it’s lively yet quiet. The neighborhood is very peaceful at night, with little noise from neighboring rooms or the street. There are many restaurants nearby, including Vietnamese, Chinese, Italian, and Japanese options. There’s also a supermarket and convenience stores near the North Exit of Nippori Station, making that the most convenient route when staying here.

The location was great, right in the middle of the Kappabashi district AND with a view of the Tokyo Skytree. Walking distance to a lot of sightseeing places (although the Skytree is further than it looks) but that of course depends on how mobile one is. However, we walked to the hotel from Ueno station with suitcases and found that quite manageable. But then we did arrive after 6pm when it was cooling down. Tokyo was in the middle of a heatwave, so had we arrived around noon, we would probably have taken a taxi. It was great to have an appartment-style room with all that entails. We were very happy to use the washing mashine/dryer which worked extremely well. This not being a keycard place that controls electricity (access door code instead), one could do the laundry while not at the property. Being able to leave our luggage there after check-out was a life-saver.

Very good location (a few meters from Tawaramachi Station)! We didn't hear the street noises at any moment, which is great (the neighborhood is relatively quiet) Beddings are excellent too (mattresses & futons) Very well equipped Staff is very friendly and stored our luggages long before our check-in (and brought them into our room before our check-in) Also, lobby smells great 😃 Btw, we were a group of 5 adult friends
