Hotels near San Sebastián Airport - EAS, San Sebastián

Old Town was brilliant. Great base to visit San Sebastián & a short boat ride across the harbour to Hendaye (France), which we knew nothing about but where the beach & the promenade were a real (pleasant!) surprise.

A beautiful hill village ideal for walkers - very quiet, we didn't see any shops in the village though so car required. Very convenient for the motorway France/Spain. Not many places to eat when we were there in late April. We ate in our hotel - Les Jardins de Bakea which was FANTASTIC! Just superb.

A pleasant place to stay, lovely walk by the coast, easy walking distance to Spain (Irun). Easy access to San Sebastian by rail. Ideal place to stay before walking or after completing the Camino del Norte from irun to santiago de composites.

lovely hotel - lovely people [particularly the boss with an excellent sense of humour - mind you, it helps speaking Spanish] - good service - delicious breakfast. We love this hotel!1 Only slightly marred by African/ Arab gentleman begging outside [and occasionally, inside the bar] - constructive suggestion, call the police / kick him out / get rid of him Suggestion to him: Get a job - the rest of us had to!

Hondarribia is more intimate than its larger cousin - San Sebastian - just a short drive away. The old town as one can imagine is full of history and interesting buildings. The newer part of the town has the beach and plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes. There is enough to keep a couple entertained for several days. If you want a drive over the mountains there is a twisty road to San Sebastian well worth a try. Recommended for a couple to visit - probably not great for kids unless in the summer for the beach.

Hendaye is beautiful but Hendaye Plage itself is a little beautiful beach village with no good restaurants-who goes to France and has bad dinners?!. Also - we had a terrible experience with the rental property we rented near where we have family living.The people who ran the agency that managed our apartment through booking.com/poplidays.com were very unprofessional and unaccommodating when we had serious issues. The property manager or the owner -- I don't know which was greedy and used our security deposit to cover expenses that were outrageous. There was one little smudge on the glass stove top and they withheld 80+ euros for cleaning. The place was spotless except for the smudge. This was just a way to get more money when we already payed a huge amount for a week's rent. They also charged us for a repair to the shutter that would not go down. The day we arrived, the door lock was not working and it required a locksmith to come as we were locked out. They were unreachable for a few hours and provided terrible customer service and the property manager rep who came was cussing up a storm because she had to work after hours. Everyone we dealt with before during and after this rental was obnoxious and not the least bit concerned about us or our experience. They just want the money. So good luck if you go there!
