Set amid the shops on Alton's main street "Not to be confused with Alton (the home of Alton Towers) in the Midlands" the Swan Hotel is a historical building that dates back to 1377. I arrived late after travel problems and a hectic week. The staff were extremely helpful. Sadly, the kitchen closed but staff were absolutely charming, advised where to get a takeaway. Although the hotel was 200 years old and no recent major renovation, the place shone. Bed appeared new and very comfortable. Sadly just one night.

All of the staff that we encountered were absolutely delightful & very efficient. Having our dog with with us, the French doors straight outside made life so much easier.

Chawton Park Farm by Wigwam Holidays enjoys a location in Chawton, 25 miles from Ageas Bowl and 26 miles from Goodwood House. It is a very some park with only 6 cabins and very peaceful. Helen the owner was the most welcoming person I have ever met and she really made our stay feel even more special. She looked after our every need and more. We will be going back again soon as it was an exceptional time
