My stay at Khubilai hotel was so exceptional.
I had a long 13 layover in Ulaanbaatar, andI just wanted somewhere to take a hot shower and take some rest. The thing is that Chinngis Khan airport is far from downtown, and many Mongolian friends told me I might not make it on time I booked a hotel in the city center, so I chose this one.
The location is perfect, just 30 minutes by car from the airport.
The double bed room was MAJESTIC! with a very high ceiling. For that price, sometimes I wouldn’t get a capsule room in Tokyo.
The cleanliness was beyond explanation. Everything was shining.
Also I should mention that the staff were very welcoming and helpful.
Eventually I did spent the night in Ulaanbaatar and just came back to take a shower and sleep for 1 hour and half. However, I would definitely use this hotel if I visited Mongolia in the future, and highly recommend it to everyone visiting Ulaanbaatar.

We arrived on a bus at the Nomin bus station and walked to the hotel. The next morning we walked to the Dragon bus station for our bus. Very convenient location to both bus stations. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. We left before breakfast and Roy provided us with some treats to eat on the bus.

The property is located closely to the cashmere shops and close to the center in the sense that you’re close enough but not so close that you’ll be stuck in traffic from 1 second. The facilities are great and the restaurant has an extensive menu and an outdoor place to eat which should be tried. The food we got was great especially the “big mama” which was as great collection of all sorts of dishes in one.

The staff upgraded us to the next level room as I'm a membership holder and it was amazing. We loved everything about the room and the facilities. Great breakfast and don't forget to try the restaurant which has outdoor seating (very nice during summer time). We'll come again

I really like walking around the central area.
I really like walking around the central area. The new Chinggis Khaan Museum was fabulous. For shopping and souvenirs, the State Department Store was great. I enjoyed eating in Pepper Lunch which was attached to the State Department Store. Mongolian cashmere is excellent quality and the Gobi store has a great selection. I also bought cashmere at Evseg. There are lovely coffee shops everywhere.

The city is very interesting, surprisingly well-equipped...
The city is very interesting, surprisingly well-equipped with shops and eateries, and functional services. There are old quarters with gerts and wooden challets, a modernized center, and very modern districts like those in Seoul or Tokyo.
The problems are heavy traffic and the lower quality of public spaces.
It is not a city for collectors of the stamps from historical monuments, but a city with a number of specifics and pleasant surprises.
