Our room was very clean and comfortable and exactly right for our purposes. Proximity to the airport and the central bus station is important to us, and the included breakfast was perfect! All of that, combined with easy Uber access and Tacos de Carnitas y Mariscos "Los Primos" just around the corner, makes our comings and goings very simple. Now that we have discovered the Container Inn, we expect to use it at least a couple of times a year.
Offering a year-round outdoor pool and views of the mountains, San Trópico Petit Hotel is situated in Puerto Vallarta in the Jalisco Region, 2.4 km from Cruise Ship Pier.

The staff were amazing, really friendly and welcoming, you feel at home when you come to this hotel. There is a cool outdoor gym that we used everyday and a work space in the trees with the iguanas, so cool!

Perfect weather, loved Bucerías and markets.
Perfect weather, loved Bucerías and markets. The pool was fabulous! The apartment was poorly equipped and we lost much time waiting for repairs, wrong internet code until last couple days. Will not return to this location. Fridge, door lock, air conditioner, internet all broken, waited for repairs. No English communication, but met many lovely people. Highly recommend Rhythms of the Night show.

We stayed an Nuevo Nayarit and the ocean and beach there is warm, clean and totally friendly! While Vidanda Vacation is not our cup of tea, the Mayan chain is! The Vallarta Adventures is very well organized and we had lovely activities with them - Rhythmo de la Noce and the Mariettas Islands visit. One cannot visit PV without taking a stroll on the old Malecon - a bit unkept this year. The grilled oysters with a glass of chilled Chardonnay is a must! Not one single cloud or problem in 7 wonderful days of vacation! Thank you to all who made our vacation a memorable one, too many to mention, but to all people in the mentioned locations, a big THANK YOU! I have to mention though the amazing musicians at Las Caletas for our Premier dinner before the performance! One of the loveliest experience indeed! We’ll return to this place, of course!

We have been coming to the Puerto Vallarta area for over 30 years. This area north of PV has gone through many changes and now has come to the south end of Bucerias. We were very impressed with the standard of care that is being done with the improvements to the area. Many new condo building, but not to the point of overcrowding. Great improvements to the streets. Many new restaurant that exceeded our expectations. An area that we will come back to again.

Fish market in La Cruz is excellent, artisanal market on Sundays is great.
We took a taxi to Bucerias for a big grocery shop, not much choice in La Cruz.
We prepared our own evening meals so we don’t know about the restaurants.
And we’re too old to party so I have no comment on that scene.

On Tuesdays, Nuevo Vallarta has a wonderful farmers' market, located in the marina area. The entire length of Paseo de los Cocoteros (Zona Hotelera) is immaculately maintained, with both sidewalks and bicycle paths.

Puerto Vallarta is safe and offers a chance to walk to authentic Mexican restaurants and shops. We choose to stay in a condo complex each year with great pools and a beach without the all-inclusive confinement. In Puerto Vallarta you don't need to remain on a resort property to be safe and that is what appeals to us.

Beautiful country, the best restaurant in the bay for breakfast/lunch is LUNA LUNA. Lots of flowering plants and tropical trees still line the streets....MANY condo developments and lots of construction happening in the 'golden zone'. East of the 200 highway is a more authentic area to stay if you want a local experience outside of the condo/hotel areas.

They have a few really good eating establishments and an amazing Sunday market at the Marina! Sadly the roads within La Cruz are terrible, the beach line is very dirty lots of stay dogs and cats sadly. Taxis charge way too much so make sure you ask prices before you get in.

Great and quieter than the downtown, but be prepared to sit in some traffic to get into PV. Also, many of the hotels in the area are all inclusive so it limits the number of restaurants that you can walk to.
The media of the main street has a nice walking / biking path.

Perfect weather every day. Great variety of restaurants. Beautiful vegetation. Tourists not hasteled nearly as much as previous years by street vendors and restaurant staff. Was there government intervention ? Appears the water and sewage system may have problems from over development. Many repairs. No longer a cheap town. Prices similar to Canada.
