We rented a golf cart which made getting around very easy.
We rented a golf cart which made getting around very easy. There's a plethora of restaurants from taco stands to dinner dancing. We enjoyed numerous but Don Pedros had excellent food with salsa lessons and a salsa band on Monday night. Our goal for the trip was rest and relaxation so we didn't take advantage of the numerous trips or water sports.

Love the ocean there because the water temperature is...
Love the ocean there because the water temperature is perfect and the waves and undertow gentle in many places, but if you want beginner/intermediate surfing waves they are there, too. Locals do not swim when the water is brown because of pollution coming in from the river...not good. Playa de Los Muertos around the southern point (and walkable) is a great alternative and much less touristy and busy, The center of town was very busy even in October (The high tourist season starts in November) so walking or renting a golf cart (about $50/day!) are the best ways to get around. There are taxis, too, but we never took one. The town is only about a mile in diameter so entirely walkable, but wear good shoes for support and balance....the streets are mostly cobblestone and uneven. This is not a good place for wheelchair mobility!

So many good places in a short distance- walk, taxi etc.
So many good places in a short distance- walk, taxi etc. Sayulita is fun by night and every day you can easily explore nearby beautiful places. Monkey mountain and Cave Beach were both beautiful, although I’ve been told Cave Beach is not the safest for single women

Beattiful beach and very typical front beach town.
Beattiful beach and very typical front beach town.
The people in Sayulita are extremely friendly and smile all the time. They are willing to help and you do feel very safe.
The streets are very busy with too many cars and 4 wheel bikes going on all the day long.
The Beach front is beautiful and inviting,
The waves are ok and surfing is possible but not very challenging.
Surfers don t respect really the rule of who has priority to the wave and there are a not caring about that. Plus they tend to go to the spot where the public and kids are swimming, NOT TOO COOL.
After a while you notice that the pollution on the water is obsiously bad.
We found a great spot run by Patricia, Juan who works there is so nice and sweet. They are absolutely adorable.
It is really sad to see how a beautiful place could be so inviting and ended up not so great.
One of the very reason is that tourists don t care about the local. They are behaving without courtesy toward anyone around them.
I really loved the place, the locals and all that make me feel very sorry.
It seems as well that SOMEONE is trying to discourage anyone to run and make business at the hotels near the beach.
Locals are afraid to complain and very often the guests are leaving to go somewhere else.
I have to write all that so who ever decided to go there will know what it is like.
I am sorry as I really loved the place and the locals.

Too many people offering hard drugs all the time.
Too many people offering hard drugs all the time. I got my first crack offer there, in the middle of the day on a Thursday!
No local food anymore, everything is for the gringos, options, flavors and prices are meant for them. Don't expect real Nayarita food in the town, you need to go far from the tourists to get it.
The people there were nice all the time, but not many locals (from Nayarit), although the gap in service for national tourism vs international tourism is noticeable.
Sayulita la menos.

Sayulita is a nice town overall.
Sayulita is a nice town overall. A mix of rundown buildings along with residential and maintained buildings. A town that has clearly been over-run with a steep rise in tourism in the last decade. Rising prices and exchange rate to the Mexican peso means that you should expect to pay about the same as you would at home for just about anything.
A nice beach and lots of surfing and tourist services. Many restaurant choices.
The number of vehicles and motorcycles lacking any effective muffler that would speed up and down the streets at all hours of the day and night made for a noisy visit and frequently being woken up while sleeping. A disappointing inconsiderate few that significantly altered our overall impression of Sayulita.

The location and the view is amazing .
The staff are friendly and polite . We got to the property sooner than check in time and they accomodated us .
We ordered breakfast with eggs and it was perfect .
It was a bit overpriced but everywhere around the world hotels meals ' are more expensive than local resto !
I definately get back to this hotel soon
The shower pressure was also very good :)
Lovely apartment on a nice quiet street just a minutes walk from the centre of Sayulita. The hosts were great - providing information and advice on local restaurants and services - and communicated in a lovely and helpful way. The apartment is clean, comfortable, and cool.
Great location in a quiet back street in the North Side of Sayulita with wonderful natural light, just 2 min walk from the beach. Small but ideal for one person for a short stay.
