Location and Transport

The recently renamed Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (formerly Lisbon Portela Airport) is located 4 miles (7 kilometres) from the city centre. An efficient public transportation system ensures passengers arrive quickly and comfortably. Hop on the Aeroporto-Saldanha Metro to downtown Lisbon, catch a local bus, or travel directly to your destination on the Airport Shuttle. Alternatively, take a taxi, which will go by a meter and should cost around EUR 12.

Was handy for the airport, only 10 minutes. The host, Wagner , arranged a taxi for me for the following morning. I bought some food and prepared in the kitchen so didn't have time to look around Camarate.

We did not choose to stay in Sacavém to 'see' Sacavém.

We did not choose to stay in Sacavém to 'see' Sacavém. We rented a car and wanted something close to the airport. We used the car rental to visit other places in Portugal. Although, the host recommended Courela do Fouguete restaurant was awesome albeit little English.

Great to have the elevator to the floor 2 apartment to bring the suitcases up and down so that they could be organized and packed for the trip home. Ana and Jorge provide clean, comfortable accommodations at a reasonable price. Perfect for the last night close to the airport before leaving Lisbon the next morning; twenty minute drive to the airport. In the double room with bathroom, a small alcove with refrigerator, hot water pot, and table was convenient to have a glass of wine in the evening and a quick snack in the morning. Disliked · Only room in Portugal that did not supply a hairdryer. Perhaps it was so that the sound would not disturb neighboring guests, as it is a room in an apartment.

The apartment is very spacious and only 10 minutes from the airport, which is super convenient. There are two large shopping malls nearby, ideal for shopping and dining. The atmosphere is calm, fresh, and peaceful. The apartment was spotless, and the host was always very communicative, helpful, and attentive making our stay perfect.

Lisbon is one of the most charming cities in Europe.

Lisbon is one of the most charming cities in Europe. It offers an incredible combination of history, architecture, gastronomy, and a welcoming atmosphere. We loved exploring its magnificent churches, the impressive São Jorge Castle, the historic streets, elegant squares, and the many scenic viewpoints (miradouros) that offer breathtaking views over the city and the Tagus River. Our favorite places were the Jerónimos Monastery, Chiado, Baixa Pombalina, the beautiful Belém district, the Basilica da Estrela, and the iconic Tram 28, which is a wonderful way to discover Lisbon's historic neighborhoods. Getting around is very easy, whether by public transportation or by car. The metro, trams, buses, and trains are efficient, while driving is also convenient, especially when exploring areas outside the city center. Lisbon is also a paradise for food lovers. We highly recommend trying the famous pastéis de nata at Fábrica dos Pastéis de Belém, Manteigaria, and Fábrica da Nata. For traditional Portuguese cuisine, Cervejaria Trindade and Solar dos Presuntos are excellent choices. If you enjoy Italian food, don't miss the chicken in red wine sauce at La Camania—it was one of the best meals of our trip. We were fortunate to visit during the Santo António Festival, when the streets were beautifully decorated and filled with music, food, and celebrations. It was a fantastic cultural experience. Lisbon is a clean, well-maintained city with a very pleasant climate, making it a destination that exceeded our expectations and one that we would gladly return to.

Family home, private and comfortable room, clean and with everything we needed to rest after missing our flight. For the price we paid, it was fair. Nothing fancy, the bathroom was clean with hot water for a shower, and there was also toilet paper and shower gel. We notified the owners by message when booking that we would arrive at 9 pm. They were friendly, and we parked our car for free on the side street, not on the main street. We would definitely stay there again

Camarate is a quiet and green place, sorrounded by olive trees, flowers and bushes. The house is clean and it has many facilities, we could have breakfast home and eat the rest of meal in a quiet atmosphere. Nice place to sleep well, after a long day visiting the city

Despite it's hilly nature Lisbon is avery walkable city.

Despite it's hilly nature Lisbon is avery walkable city. It is full of historical sites with beautiful old buildings. Despite the fact I was there in July during a heatwave there was always a very pleasant breeze fro the sea. The city is full of lovely bars and cafes and has plenty of really good restaurants.

The apartment had plenty of towels, all the kitchen essentials to cook meals, very bright and well decorated. Attention to details was outstanding. It felt very homely, we had access to things like an iron , portable heaters were provided on request plus plenty of blankets to keep warm. Little things like olive oil, sugar, basic condiments and seasonings were available in the kitchen.The owner was responsive, flexible and accommodating. It was an amazing experience overall and will definitely book again . Christine and Valter
