This 150 year-old residence is surrounded by a garden with a swimming pool and offers view of Sintra’s Moorish Castle. It was amazing experience ..all the staff very friendly also gave lots of information and suggestions..we enjoyed it very very much.
Located in centre of the historic UNESCO town of Sintra, this boutique hotel offers rooms and suites with views of the old town and Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. Staff was very friendly and helpfull. The hotel has a wine bar where you can relax after a tiring sightseeing day
Hotel Nova Sintra has a large sun terrace overlooking the Sintra Mountain Range and a romantic patio shaded by large trees. It features simply decorated rooms and free Wi-Fi. The best hotel ever! Location in the very centre. Nice clean room with central heating and air conditioning even in the bathroom. The host and all team of the hotel are very helpful and friendly, help with the luggage and the parking, they create a welcoming and pleasant ambiance. Very good value/money. The host advised very good restaurants and was glad to share some sightseeing suggestions. Only positive impressions! 10 out of 10!
Situated in the centre of Sintra, the Bliss Hotel is a designer guest house full of character, fitted with contemporary interiors. The breakfast was great. Location is well situated and staff are friendly and helpful
Tivoli Palácio de Seteais is an elegant 5-star hotel set in the mountainside of Sintra with privileged views of the Moorish Castle and Pena Palace. An amazing palace set in beautiful gardens. Very tranquil setting away from the bustle of Sintra. You could only hear the birds chirping in the trees!! Lovely staff , very welcoming . Day spa is lovely too. Sintra is an amazing UNESCO listed place and well worth considering. Lots of restaurants to choose from and a spectacular Plena Palace towering above Sintra and another in the main part of town
Penha Longa is an elegant palazzo-style estate situated among the rolling hills of the Sintra Cascais Nature Reserve. If ever there was a perfect hotel in Europe, this is as close as it gets. Spent a few nights there and they were magical. The place is breathtaking and the service is perfect. They attend to your every need and make your stay the best in a seemless way. It's located in Unesco World Heritage site...and it shows :)

Very interesting place with lots to see. Need 2 or 3 days to see it all but can see most in 2 days. If you go to the castle or palace go early as there can be a long wait to get in as there are a lot of tourists from mid morning. This is a breath-taking place to see and a place not to miss. Hard to drive around as all the streets are one way. Must have a sat nav to drive around. There is a very good cheep restaurant and good staff by the train station called Dom Pipas and has a good menu choice.
Many people visit Sintra as a day trip from Lisbon but I would highly recommend spending more time there... there are many sites to see which showcase the history of the region. We also visited the coastline between Lisbon and Sintra and there are many other sights to see in the surrounding areas (Cabo da Roca, Cascais)
The gardens and houses in Sintra were good to visit in the winter when it was relatively quiet. We have a car so we could get around and go to the coast and to Lisbon. We were disappointed there was nowhere easy to walk the dog and would stay by the coast if booking again for this reason. But you could stay in Sintra and visit Lisbon by train.
It is easy to get lost,it's a laberint although It is a very interesting place. The information office is not of big help and there were hop on hop off buses that were too full and you had to wait too long more than 40 minutes in the cold.
We went to Sintra in January, which was perfect! Not too many tourists at all and all the parks were lucious green. The town is very touristic, but nevertheless absolutely worth seeing. I would recommend to stay one night to escape the standard tourist track
Be prepared to walk and you will be rewarded with the quirky Pena Palace with marvellous views overlooking the town. You can take the bus up then walk back down, visiting the Moorish Castle on the way. There's so much to see and do in this town. There are lots of craft shops and restaurants as it is certainly a tourist town.

We stayed in the top floor suite - enormous and quite special. Beautiful views, a huge private porch, and gorgeously decorated (as is the whole hotel)—it could easily accommodate 4 adults. The people who worked there were very attentive and friendly, and full of suggestions for places to eat and strategies for visiting the highlights of Sintra. A 10-minute walk from the train station, it is also conveniently situated for touring—another 10-minute walk to the main party of town. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The WiFi was strong. Close to so much! Only 10 minutes (walking) away from Quinta de Regaliera. Five minutes (walking) away from the Bus 434 stop to take you to Sintra parks like Pena Palace, Castle of Moors etc. Five minutes away (walking) from a mini market anf from Sintra Palace. 12 minutes (walking) from the train station. Queluz Palace is only a 15 minute train ride as well. Hot water, clean apartment...looks exactly like the picture. All appliances work. It was GREAT.

One of our best experiences during holiday in Portugal. Owners of the place is a couple of photographers. House is full of their pictures, old cameras and books. You feel that is the place of love. Lots of cats outside playing with each other. You want to be there back again!
