The beach is absolutely gorgeous! The water is pretty calm, so you can enjoy the water. And the town is super nice and quite active with lots to do and lots of great restaurants to choose from. Overall a place definitely worth visiting.
I loved to be able to have the door open so I could hear the sounds of the ocean. The room was beautiful as were the amenities. Breakfast was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of life.
I first landed in Sesimbra at 23 am now 36 and just got married and took my wife there for are honeymoon. It’s a special place for me as a Londoner I’ve never felt out of place the Portuguese to me are some of the best people you can ever meet, helpful genuine and very down to earth. Lovey fishing village just outside Lisbon like a hidden paradise with amazing fresh food, Meats and lots of fish. Wasn’t a fan of fish but Sesimbra changed my outlook. There are so much places to go for food my favourite restaurants are El canhao one and two. Gliese bar, Frango a Gruia. El canhao’ fish and meat platter, steak on a stone so much options you can’t go wrong. Frango means chicken and there’s plenty at this restaurant. Gliese bar has some of the best tasting cocktails and snacking foods. Sesimbra is not that big takes two days to know the town well, always stick to the main road in town and you won’t get lost. Be sure to visit the castle for a breath taking view of the town. My happy place and one day yours.
Sesimbra is a fisherman village just south of Lisbon. It's hilly and remind me the French Riviera and Monaco without the extravagant prices and with more welcomely people. If you drive and stay during peak season make sure you have allocated parking. If you are into wines try the region wines from Azeitao and Setubal. And foodwise there is good options for all wallets. But always fresh fish and seafood is mandatory. And charcoal grilled fish start to be ahard to find, so enjoy it while you can. After you explore the village have a look at Arrabida, Azeitao, Cape Espichel or try water activities or an ocean tour available from the harbour.
Sesimbra is a nice lively place with many restaurants near the beach, with a lot of choice of fish dishes. Be aware however that ocean water temperature is rather low even in summer, as for most of Portugal. Moreover it is quite common to have a strong northerly wind. The town is built on a slope, and many streets in the center are narrow, some quite steep. Finding a parking place can be difficult in the high season. In the harbor you can find a number of companies that offer SCUBA diving, snorkeling, dolphin watching and kayaking.
Sesimbra is a lovely fishing village. The beach and front is beautiful and spotlessly clean. The area mainly caters for Portuguese so very little English is spoken. The little town is pretty but very hilly and difficult to navigate in a car. It would be an issue for people with mobility issues to get around. I suggest you eat in the smaller back street resturants as the food is equally as good and less than half the price of the seaview eateries. For a peaceful holiday seeing the real Portugal, Sesimbra is well worth a visit.
The location is superb! You just have to cross to the other side of the street and you're at the beach! All rooms have a balcony which is wonderful to enjoy the view and still manage to have privacy. The pool area is wonderful, very fresh and pleasant with many spaces with grass and trees, which is not usual in hotels. They also have a pool for children. The room was quite large and spacious and the bed very comfortable.
The location is great if you prefer to be out of the busyness of being in Central Sesimbra. Zimbros is out in the countryside, so very quiet, and about 10 minutes drive down the road are some beautiful historic buildings, a lighthouse, and dramatic cliffs. Great place for a sundowner. The accommodation itself had a fantastic breakfast, and the staff were helpful.
Sesimbra
The place is quite large, very well ventilated, a lot of light coming in, a gorgeous view to the sea. Many facilities available for cooking. The beds have real decent mattresses for a good night's sleep. Above all, the host Maria is a very kind host who's very flexible and understanding. I will definitely stay over again next time I'm in Sesimbra.
Sesimbra
Beautiful and thoughtfully created studio apartment with great use of space, making a very comfortable stay of several days. Close to the beach, market, a good mini market, cafes and restaurants and on a charming old square. People sometimes walk and chat outside in the daytime but it was always quiet at night in late May.
Sesimbra
We so much enjoyed Sesimbra that we extended our stay by 8 nights but unfortunately due to our unit being so popular we could not extend our booking. Definately be back to be woken up by the chirping birds and the noise of the sea. Unbelievable location and just a magnificent place Sesimbra is.
Its an somewhat outdated 4 star luxurious hotel where it might lost its feathers 10 years ago. Big rooms, okay breakfast, sick view. But some parts are near falling apart. Location was excellant. Atmosphere meh. Hope they will renovate it soon in something cool :)
