Hotel in Troia
Located in Troia, this 5-star hotel has a unique design and faces the Sado River Estuary. It features a casino, a spa and 2 outdoor swimming pools.
Large room with little living room area and great view of the island. Bed was comfy, little kitchen was supplied with kitchenware on request, large bathroom with bath and shower. Apart from the sofa you wouldn't be able to guess the age of the room, it was very good. Staff were always super helpful. Check-in and reception staff speak and understand English without any problems. Some language issues with breakfast/bar staff, but nothing major.

My Apartment was in the D-Block, I had perfect view to watch the Ferry and was close enough to the Park and Convention Center, where most of my activities took place. Going in and out of the building was easy and made me feel safe and confident. The cleaning ladies were incredibly nice, discreet and did amazing work!

The location was great, very beautiful and peaceful. The villas were very spacious and perfect for what we had in mind for our little team retreat.
Troia is a great place to enjoy almost year round beach and country relaxation. Eating can be excelent down the Peninsula, though prices are becoming too high, and second level places are not as good as they should be by Portuguese cuisine levels - get on the ferry and enjoy great fish in Setubal for a pair of meals. Avoid Troia Residence, by The Editorym Ácala Apartments. Lousy price/quality relation. A spacious and well conserved apartment with poor help form the desk (not ansereing phone; late or no action when requested). Absolutely noisy from 7pm to 1am. Tricky air conditioning. Awful 3rd bed requested and paid for an adullt. Kitchenware reduced to absolute minimum, no broom, and no equipment to dry towels and clothes, though there's a specific balcony.
We discovered this is a resort season and most of the area and buildings are empty/closed in offseason, which apparently mid-October is. Our apartment, F31, was in very poor condition in terms of maintenance. For example the tv, Wi-Fi, security shutters, lock to balcony, shower water pressure were all non functioning. There is a longer list the the building (which was empty except for us) maintenance man now has. He expressed frustration that housekeeping had not made him aware. The apartment is cute, and had it functioned properly, would have been ok. As it was, we left, forfeiting the room fee. Reception told us they felt bad but that only Booking.com could issue a refund. We are now waiting 3 days for a response.
Lovely and peaceful. Great for sea activities, walking and cycling. Maybe a bit too quite for some but there is always Setubal just a short ferry crossing away. Great restaurants in Troia and also in Comporta.
Troia has a fantastic beach. Incredible facilities and a great natural environment where the whole resort is integrated. A bit too family oriented for my taste, depending on what hotel or apartment you stayed in. This place is very quiet and peaceful off season, but much more lively in the Summer months. Needs a nightclub desperately! I also love that Troia is so close to the great trendy village of Comporta and the fabulous beaches of Melides and beyond.
We loved the lime green car ferry trip as the start to exploring Troia. The harbour front was good for eating out, and Comporta for it's relaxed Ibiza vibe. The beaches were glorious but of course the Atlantic Ocean was freezing!
Very calm and relaxing, never ending beach, walking circuits, excellent for a relaxing weekend or vacation. Restaurants a bit crowdy but not too expensive and good seafood available. Only the cement plan across the river estuary doesn't look good on the photos, but you just have to ignore it.
Troia
The accommodation was as described in the advertisement. It's a nice house in a great location. We were there in the off-season and the entire neighbourhood was empty, as well as the beach. There was no issue with the house. When we arrived, there was an issue with mould in the original house, but the host was incredibly helpful, booked us into a nice hotel immediately and offered us an equivalent house afterwards. They did a great job.
Full views of the beaches and peninsula were amazing on the corner suite 11th floor with huge wrap around balcony. Room was wow, huge spacious luxurious and clean. We got upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment suite so we could stay in the same room for two nights without changing rooms. We only paid a small upgrade fee one night of 60 euros. Breakfast buffet service and food was great. Parking and breakfast included is great.
Troia
Great location, walking distance to the beach and restaurants. also if you want to go to the beach in Arrábida, the ferry is also close by. close to sol-troia/ comporta by car. Well equipped apartment with free parking. Pedro will also help you with everything you need.
Beautiful Penthouse, right at gorgeous beach - truly a hidden gem! Owner was extremely helpful, tons of tips for great food , ferries, trains ... Highly recommend the accommodation and Troia as location
Quite good. Very personal service. Customer focused! Good attention from the staff. Off season accommodation - good the hotel was open and could take care of us. Thanks for allowing pets (our dog)
Very conveniently located in the nice Troia Resort. The owner Mr. Luis was very helpfful during all steps of the experience: preparation of our arrival, suggestions for restaurants, etc.
Good location, but still calm, close to the beach but not that close to bother . The staff friendly and helpful , the hotel amazing.
The area of Troia is really beautiful and very well served by restaurants , marina, long beach and green areas. Very pleasant.
Troia
It's much more beautiful than the photos show. Whitest sand I have seen in Portugal, a stunning unexplored beach.
The natural park, the beach, the location, the design / architecture, its peacefulness and silence, the breakfast
Restaurantes in the Marina not part of the hotel.
The design of the villas are nice.
