This was a simple apartment in the town center, only 5 min walk from the bus stop. Hiking paths nearby. Own terrace with table and chair, with great views down the valley. Heating kept it warm enough during the winter weather. Separate sitting area. Fridge and micro for self-catering. Enough warm water, even for a bathtub. An opportunity to burn wood in the fireplace, but we did not try it.
Above all, Lola and Alberto were warm, kind, helpful and very welcoming.
As for the hotel: The lounge upstairs is a great place to sit and read, with a cosy fireplace in the evening. There are lots of good restaurants in Capileira, but it was great to be able to have a coffee or prepare a snack in the hotel - it made the stay very home-like.
Definitely a place to return to.
The room with the balcony was just beautiful. Watching and listening to the goats with their bells just metres away was fantastic. Tea and coffee makoing and other self catering arrangements were available should one want them.
The owners of the hotel could not do more for their visitors. Very much a family feel.
