With two fans, the place was never hot even with the amount of heat and humidity outside being through the roof. The kitchen was fully equipped, it had a electric stove, fridge, dishes, pans, even a traditional coffee maker and a water heater. It was really appreciated that it had some ground coffee and black tea supplies, along with sugar and salt. The bathroom had shampoo and hand soap, also two towels. In addition to that he offered us an extra blanket. The whole place is full of mesh to keep the mosquitoes away. I loved how it has a private entrance and a little private patio with two nice chairs and also a thingy where you can put your clothes to dry. It was also really good that it had a shower outside to not bring any sand inside the room. It also has an outdoor table where you can enjoy your breakfast while watching the nature around you, simply awesome. Frederick is one of the nicest host, no, nicest people I have ever met. If my stay was longer I would just take hours to sit and chat with him, he showed me a little pond he made with his own hands and I was able to spot a little red frog. The place is full of wild life, you can hear howler monkeys in the distance, there are all kinds of birds and we even spotted several armadillos around the street next to the room. The cherry on top is Horacio, Fredericks dog, he is the cutest dog ever we missed him so much when we left, you couldn't imagine how we feel about that doggo until you meet him. Some other things that really showed that he cares for the people staying is how he had a drawer with some games to play, like dominoes and chess. A really nice touch was also the little brochure you will find on the room that has stories about him, about the place and useful guides that help you find where to eat, rent a bicycle and a lot more, it was really wholesome.

Quiet place surrounded by nature just a short walk from Puerta Viejo (you can take the bus or walk). Amazing atmosphere thanks to the sounds of the jungle, which we loved listening to in the evening and morning. The accommodation has a nice natural design, which is pleasantly complemented by warm lighting and a hammock, which is included in the equipment. We observed hummingbirds, toucans and sloths in the nearby area. The beaches, local restaurants and market are a short walk away. The accommodation is well-equipped and you can cook your own meals using local ingredients.

    Hosts (including son and dog) - Perfect! Could not fault them one little bit. Any issues/questions we may have had, Lior was available and would respond immediately. Tree-Top studio...Wow. one of the best Studio apartments we've had the pleasure of staying in. A little small, however, very accommodating. Stepping onto the terrace is where your Tree-Top experience really comes to life! Lots of visitors from the jungle!

    Fantastic location and a brilliant host in Frederic (and his lovely dog Horatio). Breakfast with toucans and iguanas and wake up to howler monkeys. You are 5 minutes from the beach (ask Frederic for his recommendations) but away from the crazy busy main road - this chilled out studio is perfect base for your Caribbean Costa Rica stay.

    Awesome place to stay. Everything its green, we are in the middle of the tropical jungle but the beach its 5 minutes from the apartment. There are even wild animals in the gardens!

    The location is perfect, the apartment is located 2km away from Puerto Viejo. It is surrounded by forest and only a few villas are on the property which makes it a relaxing place ideally for families and solo travellers. The pool was nice and the distribution of the apartment was convenient.
