The host was friendly and very communicative. I texted her upon arrival and she brought my keys and explained everything inside the apartment. She came back when I struggled with starting the washer and she was generally very quick to respond to questions. There is a great grocery store on the ground level of the building, very convenient for cooking in this well-equipped kitchen. The owner has left a beer, some water, and other items in the fridge for guest use, as well as cooking oil, condiments, and more. The owner also spoils guests with many chocolates and treats in the entryway and kitchen area. The attention to detail is what makes this rental stand out. I loved having a washer/dryer, drying rack, and fan for my merino wool stuff. Best of all was the view from the smaller bedroom onto the large river that hugs Portomarin. The bathroom was finished with beautiful granite and a rain showerhead, all of which worked perfectly. There was not a need unaddressed in this apartment--it was fantastic! Will you believe, the host even had a fridge magnet made with my name on it? It lives on my fridge at home now and reminds me of my good memories of the Camino de Santiago. Thank you, Marina!
