Lesbia y Julio nos recibieron muy bien, nos dieron toda la información e incluso se levantaron temprano para asegurarse de que cogiéramos el barco para ir a Tikal. La pousada se encuentra fuera de la isla de Flores pero en 2 minutos puedes tomar el barco para llegar allí.

From the moment I arrived, every single person working at the property was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. Their hospitality truly made me feel at home. The view of the lake is absolutely breathtaking — waking up to that peaceful scenery was one of the highlights of my trip. What truly made my stay extra special were the lovely pets around: I forgot the name of the sweet little cat, but she totally stole my heart, and Lola, the adorable dog, was always there for some cuddles and joy. This place is more than just a stay — it’s an experience filled with warmth, charm, and genuine care. I totally recommend it and would come back in a heartbeat!

Loved this place, the bungalow/hut was spacious, comfortable, super clean, being in the jungle was amazing listening to all the animals at night, the staff are so friendly and helpful and provide you with free water. Highly recommend.

I loved everything about this place and wished I would have stayed for weeks! The room was big, clean, comfortable with an amazing view on the lake, especially at sunset and sunrise, when you can see a lot of birds (among which green parakeets, red-lored parrots, etc.). There were mosquito nets, but I didn’t see a single mosquito throughout my 3-night stay. The AC was quiet and worked perfectly, and the room had great Wi-Fi I used for a work video call. The room comes with a balcony, where you can find a table, chairs and hammock. There is also a kitchen you can use in common spaces. Umberto is an amazing host! He is very kind and helped me throughout my stay, even offering to lend me money when I had trouble withdrawing from the ATM, which I really appreciated in this stressful situation. He arranged my tours to Yaxha and Tikal, and the hotel’s location is very convenient, right where shuttle and colectivos stop and just in front of El Remate’s only ATM. It is a 5 min walk from the laundry shop, and within a 5 min walk from many great cafes and restaurants (Cahui, La Puerto, Casa de Don David, Doña Mari, etc.). I hesitated between staying in El Remate or Flores, but now that I have been to both, I am happy that I got to experience a quieter side of Lake Petén, with better sunset views and amazing restaurants, closer to Tikal and Yaxha archaeological sites. Highly recommended!

Erick was really welcoming, responsive, and attentive to our needs and situation. Always ready to help and give good advice. The place is quiet, nice and has a nice view over Flores Island and the lake. You get to the hotel thanks to a small boat and the ones you take to get there and leave are free (otherwise it's 10Q per person until 10:00pm). Around the hotel there's a viewpoint, a beach and a small archeological site. For the rest you always have to take a small boat. Nice room, hot shower.

Hilda and Elvis are so helpful, kind, and accommodating. Hilda helped us do our laundry, stored our luggage during our 5 day trek, and even helped bring us to Flores on a 4:45 am early lancha. The area is lovely, calm, and a short boat ride from Flores. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Leandro and his family took amazing care of us! We could reach out to them whenever we wanted. The place is really beautiful, especially the private access to the lake. The rooms have wifi and an AC! We would recommend this B&B to anyone who ever goes to Flores :)
