The cook house is a wonderfully spacious, stylish and comfortable place to stay. There were lovely views across the fields, a marvellous sunrise for the Summer Solstice, and the sunsets each evening were awesome. We loved exploring the local area, There were good walks around fishing lakes and through woodland (even for seniors) and several National Trust places to visit in the locality. We enjoyed the welcome pack. We wish we could have extended our stay. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. Thank you. We had a lovely break in this fantastic holiday cottage. We can definitely recommend.

The Barge Inn is a little Paradise with the friendliest People. The Room was huge and a perfect Mix of beautyful renovated old and modern. I heard they sometimes host music Festivals (check their website). No idea if it can get loud then but as we were there it was super quiet at night and we slept wonderful. The Bed was big and very comfortable. I have to eat glutenfree and they offered me many options for breakfast (GF Granola, Cornflakes, Bread..) and a full english Breakfast. Also our dog was very welcomed. Even in the bar. We were so happy and already make plans to come back once for longer.

How it was so well equipped, we literally couldn’t think of anything else we might have needed it was all there. It was so clean and warm. Plenty of hot water and everything worked really efficiently

The cottage was spotlessly clean—every surface gleamed and the fresh linens smelled wonderful. Clive, our host, was very friendly and personally met us upon arrival, showing us around the entire house. He cooked delicious fresh bread and muffins for breakfast—warm, fluffy, and still fragrant when we sat down to eat. After breakfast, Clive took the time to explain how to get to Lacock and recommended the best sights to see there, which made our day trip effortless and memorable.

We loved the rooms decor and size. We really liked the bathroom with the skylight and tub. The continental breakfast was much better than expected. It was actually pretty amazing. We loved seeing the little orange cat in the little courtyard too.

The property has a nice private location on the first floor with an outside staircase for access. It is attached to the hosts’ home. All our needs were covered and a welcome pack of milk, biscuits, tea, coffee, fruit and croissants with butter and jam for breakfast was lovely and greatly appreciated. Steve and Michelle are very friendly and welcoming.
