Opening onto a terrace, The Stones Hotel is located between Amesbury and Salisbury. It has a restaurant, bar, free parking and free WiFi. Great position Alice on Reception very helpful and polite Nice to see in a busy Hotel
Well worth a visit if only to ponder how people that long ago managed to move and raise such enormous stones. Hopefully the long proposed tunnel will eventually be built. That will remove the background traffic noise from the A303.
Loved it. Not my first visit though. Tip- wear flat sensible foot wear, use the conveniences at the stonehenge centre before you visit, get the free bus if you don't want to walk though fields and woodland, take drinks and take your rubbish home with you.
We stayed in nearby Amesbury, which allowed to arrive at Stonehenge nice and early. Thus avoiding the steadily increasing number of visitors. We also took the opportunity to book the entry tickets online before leaving home.
The apartment was beautifully decorated and little touches like tea, coffee and water were greatly appreciated. After a week of holiday hassle it was lovely to have some space and just relax. The host was readily available and responded promptly to any question. I will definitely be staying here again when I travel back to Stonehenge and would thoroughly recommend, and take friends along. If you are looking to stay near Stonehenge, book this place! Also had a wonderful meal in 'Piazza' in the town.
Amesbury
We had one of the newly refurbished annexe rooms and it was really roomy with plenty of room for a family if needed. The bed was huge and really comfy! The staff were all very friendly and helpful and breakfast was served in a characterful dining room. The hotel is excellently situated for visiting Stonehenge.
Amesbury
Hostel Warden was superb! The gentleman was incredibly personable and offered suggestions of places to visit in Salisbury. The hostel is ideally located for visits to Stonehenge and Salisbury. I also liked the fact a ticket was included to visit the rare breeds farm next door - an added bonus!
Nice little hotel in great location for Stonehenge. Car park across the road was pay and display but plenty of spaces so no problem at all. Staff were lovely and very helpful. The Beatles memorabilia was great. Breakfast was very nice. There is a nice garden with fountain to enjoy a drink.
Amesbury
We loved that the hotel was very pet friendly. Rooms were very clean and spacious. Staff were friendly and quick to amend any mistakes. The hotel has a nice and relaxed pub/restaurant. Good location if you want to visit Stonehenge. Great starting point for walks.
Breakfast was huge. No evening food was available but we were invited to bring in a takeaway and use the hotels crockery in the dining room which was great with our 2 grand daughters. The owner told us interesting facts about the Inn, Anesbury and Stonehenge,
Very comfortable and spacious apartment in the centre of Amesbury. It was immaculately clean, with a new kitchen, comfy beds and a great shower. Very close to Stonehenge, and not too far from Salisbury. We had a very enjoyable stay. Thank you!
Martine and Kelsey who worked in the restaurant Saturday were lovely girls, a credit to the holiday inn, they made our stay more enjoyable! The hotel was just what we needed as we visited Stonehenge
