We stayed in the one bedroom accommodation on the left. Lovely, clean, the bed exceptionally comfortable. Separate bedroom, lounge and bathroom all very well equipped. Enclosed front garden for our small dog. A gorgeous swimming pool cool for the hot summer days. Beautiful, quiet location surrounded by sunflowers. There is a boulangerie in Varaize which is an eight minute drive away and shopping in Matha. The host Virginie and her family were so kind and helpful. Would highly recommend anyone to stay there. It was a wonderful peaceful rural setting, an ideal location for exploring the Charente-Maritime region.

We had been pleased to have been the very first guests in Karoline homestay. It is a very big house where we could freely use the kitchen, living room and the big garden. The rooms are on the top floor and there had been a fully modern and renovated clean bathroom to be shared among the guests. Just around the corner is a community children's playground, tennis field, Minigolf course with 18 holes which is free to use. Also a beautiful hiking path can be started there. Free fast WiFi is available. The host is very friendly, supportive, accommodating and definitely wants to make you feel like at home. It had been so relaxing that we decided to extend our stay some more nights.

The hosts went to a great deal of trouble and care to meet the additional needs due to my limited mobility, often without being asked and suggesting ways to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We really appreciated their thoughtfulness and consideration. We felt very welcome and looked after.

Located in a peaceful but easily accessible spot. The gite was very comfortable and the hosts Tania and John were lovely. They very kindly cleaned out and re-set the log burner each day and then lit it for when we were due to arrive back at the gite. They were most helpful with information regarding places to go and directed us to a Brocante which, otherwise, we would never have found.
