United StatesThis lovely little motel, run by a very polite gentleman, is a GEM and a bargain! I'm a low maintenance traveler - I don't need fancy soaps/linens, great views or staff fawning over my every whim; I require a clean/comfortable bed, a decent bathroom and relative quiet - nearby food is a bonus.
The Regency Inn is a cute older facility meticulously updated and maintained; the parking lot is well paved, parking is in front of the rooms, and it's easy to find. Even though the room was small (I don't usually entertain in my room so this was ok with me) it was well laid out with a full size bed AND a twin size bed, both with good linens, a soft mattress topper and FAT soft pillows - perfect for a family!
There was also a large wall mounted tv, a desk/chair, mini-fridge, microwave and coffee maker - everything provided worked as it should.
The bathroom had a newly tiled low threshold shower, standard toilet, window for natural ventilation, a good wall to wall mirror and an adorable little vanity sink - it looks tiny but I'm a good size person and had no problem maneuvering in the space. Towels and toiletries were good quality.
AND, even after taxes the price was WELL under $100 through Booking.com. Full disclosure - as the song says '...no pool, no pets (please verify), no cigarettes' but I loved it.
For a small town it had surprisingly good choices for food. I arrived just before 9 pm and was able to snag a hot deli meal at the local FULL SERVICE grocery store less than a mile down the street; there were also several substantial gas/convenience stores along the street in either direction and a chicken joint almost immediately next door.
I'm a fan of independent small businesses and will DEFINETLY be returning to the Regency every time I'm in the area.
