The location: An amazing view, far enough from Grahamstown for peace and tranquility but close enough for comfort. The accommodation: Stunning little cottage with all the amenities that you need. Big high five to the Mimosa Guest House in Makhanda, my base of operations (along with a herd of cows outside) during the RU120 visit to Makhanda. Very comfortable historic home in a lush garden setting with inviting charcoal pool. Temperatures required regular immersions and poolside lounging. Woke up to the caterwauling of the Hadada Ibis in the trees each morning. Enjoyed meals at Major Fraser's across the street from Drostdy Arch. They have superb pizzas that are wood-fired oven-cooked.

The room was very clean and well set-up. Iris, our host, was friendly, hospitable, communicative, and helpful. She got up very early on a Sunday morning so that we could check out before the usual time, which was very nice of her. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
