Set in an olive farm with a garden and a swimming pool, Posada Verde Oliva offers stylish rural accommodations in Coquimbito, only 9.9 mi from Mendoza city. The building, the garden, the pool, the friendliness of the people, the food, the breakfast,... everything! We arrived late but they waited for us and prepared something to eat. The posado feels a bit like “home”.

Maipú
Departamento Arenas is located in Maipú, 2 mi from Mendoza Winery and 3.1 mi from Lopez Winery, in an area where cycling can be enjoyed. We loved our stay here, having a clean, quiet space to ourselves with lovely hosts that went the extra mile. This place is only a block from the supermarket and is further out from tourist hotspots for those who want a break from the hustle and bustle.
What Maipú lacks in scenery, unless the Andes are out from their cloud bank, it makes up for in proximity to great wineries and restaurants that one can easily ride a bike to. It is very laid back and relaxing. The newer wine region of Valle de Uco is not far away, either. Tours there from Maipú are easily arranged.
The town of Maipu itself is unremarkable, but the Mendoza area overall is fantastic. A mix between northern California and Arizona. Given the cheap car service rates, in the future, I'll stay in Mendoza City where there are more creature comfortts--wine country was only about 30 mins from downtown.
My friend and I enjoyed the quietness of the town and the friendliness if it's occupants. The main square was attractive with a large central fountain, trees and benches. On Sunday evening there was a market surrounding the square, however I don't know whether this happens every Sunday. We took a bicycle tour of several wineries ; lots of fun and very easy because the area is flat. There is an I-Site on the main square and luckily for us there were English speakers, and again great service and suggestions. A thoroughly enjoyable visit....
Maipu is great. Its a beautiful place for some downtime and enjoying friends and family. However, we would recommend a location in city of Mendoza if you do not have your own transportation and wish to go on tours. The tour buses do not pick you up from Maipu.
Maipu isn't a nice little city how i was expecting! I find myself very disappoi ted to see how dirty it is. It has a very beautiful plaza and the museum of wine (with the bodega giol) that are the only nice thing. It brings a feeling of "nobody cares" and of not very safe place. sidewalks are broken, many buildings are abandoned and there isn't much to do.
Maipu is a wine region that is well worth visiting! The Malbec and other reds were very delicious! Lots of interesting history that you will learn from the tour guides in the many wineries. Uco Valley and Lujan de Cuyo are 2 other regions close by. We had a wonderful driver who took us to the wineries we desired, and then to a gourmet lunch at one of them! Getting around Maipu is much easier f you hire a driver.
