Several rooms are designed with seniors in mind, with elevator access, extra-wide doors to accommodate “rollers”, and higher toilet seats. As the 4th generation representative, owner Helmut, assisted by staff and his dear Mother, caters to each guest’s personal comfort. I nearly fell over the first morning on entering the breakfast room when I discovered that what I had thought was the buffet was my personal table, with name card: two baskets of breads, a bowl of cereal, fresh cut pineapple, yogurt, non-lactose milk, a plate of cheeses & meats, butter & jellies: I can’t even recall everything. And then I got my choice of cooked egg (omelet). In addition, since I was a solo guest, a variety of reading material was placed next to my plate, and I was presented by Helmut with a tourist card to get discounts in the area. And what an area! In a few hours, you can eat your way thru Burgenland, Slovenija, and Hungary, visit several castles, hike in the hills, view museums…. It appears you can also borrow equipment from the hotel for your outdoor activities. Families with children will appreciate the “game room” off the lobby and the indoor swimming pool. There’s also a spacious “back yard” with an outdoor pool.
