Small and friendly village - great for families that want a relaxing ski experience
I cannot recommend the small village of Vent highly enough. It is the perfect location for a family ski holiday (no doubt it is nice in summer too with many walks and huts accessible from the village). The slopes cater for beginning and intermediate skiiers. We went in the last week of March/beginning of April and skiing was still in full swing (1900m, 2300m & 2600m). I was told that the higher slopes (top lift goes to 2600m) the ski season can run into May. The staff at the ski-lifts and in the numerous (hotel) restaurants are very friendly. Bus services to the nearby, and much larger, Soelden and Obergurgl resorts are excellent. When in Vent you will realise you are dependent on the shop Kaufhausl. This however is not a problem: the staff is super friendly and helpful. For example, we rented our ski equipment there for 6 days and, unfortunately, one in our party had an accident and could not ski after 2 days. They returned the full rental sum to us without us asking for it.
