We highly recommend the Mun Hing Chinease Restaurant in Armidale for its lovely staff and great food. We also highly recommend the all seasons hotel for its afortable accommodation and decent rooms. The New Year fireworks display was also a pleasure to view from a distance. We where a bit puzzled by the timeline on the fireworks as we thought we the fireworks would blast at 9:00pm.
A beautiful place to stay. On the four occasions we have stayed here, I would say sipping Peterson's delicious port and muscat beside the fire has been a highlight for us. Far enough out of town for peace and quiet, but close enough to pop down for a meal or shopping. The Whitebull Hotel in Marsh St is our favourite place for dinner!
Armidale is a picturesque town with beautiful town with beautiful old buildings and picturesque nature around it. The weather gets quite cold in winter and is perfect red wine and fireplace weather. It is surrounded by gorges and waterfalls which makes it a wonderful place to go for scenic walks and get away from the mundane repetitiveness of every life.
My personal view is that Armidale has lost a lot of its charm. I did not feel safe walking down the mall in the late afternoon. Many young people hanging about abusing each other an well as some of the shop owners. A lot of empty shops. Fortunately the autumn colors are gorgeous this has not changed in 40 years. Very few dinner options, except pubs and rather pricey, compared with other regional towns. Armidale was a town we visited as a destination for many years now only as a stop over.
We travelled to Armidale for a Hockey carnival, and although being in the centre of Armidale, it was quiet, and comfortable, and the Hockey Fields just a few minutes drive down the road. Perfect location for us. Would be perfect for anyone with business in the centre of Armidale too.
Armidale on this trip was a pit-stop enroute to the Central West. The New England area is a destination in itself and it would be lovely to explore more on another trip. The next month (late March/April) will see the trees change to Autumn colours - a great time to visit.
Our stay at Tatersalls was amazing. The hotel is right in the centre of Armidale so you can walk everywhere and the building has been extremely well renovated. All the small deco details – the curved wardrobe and bed, the custom carpet, the brass tapware, the mirrors – result in a fantastic feel without being fussy or over-the-top. The bathroom is spacious and beautiful yet functional. We'll definitely stay here again.
Armidale
Everything - Armidale Cottage is as good as a home away from home gets. Modern, clean, roomy, beautifully furnished, and thought out so you essentially want for nothing. Our party universally felt the same way. Plus off street parking right at your door adds to the convenience. Yes, we'd return in a heartbeat. And lastly all at a reasonable price.
Armidale
A good motel in a perfect position close to restaurants, bars, pubs etc so can park the car and walk everywhere. Great to have opening windows with flyscreens, although we had one of only 2 rooms facing the road so there was a bit of traffic noise throughout the night (we booked late on a Saturday afternoon for Saturday night so can't complain).
Armidale
Exceeded expectations- newly renovated bathrooms etc , close to town (by car), clean, tidy, all basic amenities provided. Safe, quiet and I didn’t worry about my car at all if I left it there. Fine for women travelling alone or others who may feel vulnerable. Beds were spotless, large shower, large tv etc will be staying again if in Armidale.

We were stuck in NSW and booked here, ended up getting our dogs shipped down to us - had to move to a dog friendly hotel. They were so easy to deal with, very understanding and were more than happy to give us a refund. Will definitely stay here again, very happy with their service.

Wonderful self contained unit, with private car space. Quiet and relaxing view from the verandah. Great shower head and pressure. The spa was also wonderful and very relaxing. Centrally located made walking and exploring easy.
The location is very convenient, there's parking within the hotel, the shared toilets were clean, and the room was warm with the heater and electric blankets. The only person in charge we eventually found was kind.

This is the second time we have stayed at White Lanterns when passing through the Armidale region. The owners are friendly; the room is very clean and quite spacious with a large & comfortable bed, separate armchairs and a small dining table; the shower had plentiful water. It was very quiet overnight. The motel is excellent value for money, and we will certainly stay yet again on our next visit to Armidale.

We stayed in a 3br cabin and it was great - well set up, everything we needed for our family of 4. We borrowed a portacot which came with fresh linen and a blanket which was a lovely touch. The kitchen was equipped with what we needed for a short stay. The kids also loved the bouncing pillow.
An luxurious guest house. The room was lovely with a comfortable bed. The food was also great. We had dinner and breakfast here. Its a relax and amazing experience here.
