Sail under the iconic Harbor Bridge on a ferry and take in a world class performance at the Sydney Opera House. Circular Quay is also home to the exquisite waterside Botanical Gardens and the Museum of Contemporary Art. The Sydney Tower is the highest point on the skyline and offers a restaurant with panoramic views.
Whether it's the quirky King Street in Newtown or the elegance of the Woollahra, travelling outside of the center uncovers each suburb's distinct flavor. The famous Bondi Beach is the starting point of a walk along the cliffs to the equally photogenic beaches of Bronte and Coogee.
Sydney’s Kingsford Smith International Airport is the main gateway to this capital city and only a short distance from the city center. From a dorm bed in King’s Cross to a 5-star, serviced apartment in the central business district, Booking.com will ensure you don’t miss the excitement in this dynamic city down under.
We stayed in the suburb Barangaroo which I found to be very central to all the tourist attractions we had planned. It's also within walking distance to almost everything, including the Lyric theatre if you are heading to Sydney to watch a show. The hotel was also only 1 block away from the waterfront where there are a heap of dining options. We booked a 3 entry ticket which got us into Madame Tussauds, Sealife and the rooftop Zoo next door - this was a good deal. We had a blast at Madame Tussauds and the Aquarium. The zoo was different to any I've exprienced because the animals are so close to you. They only take maybe 45 minutes to an hour each to go through. I highly recommend the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb if you have time. The views are amazing and the guides give you interesting facts about Sydneys history as well as the history of the bridge. Taronga Zoo is also a must - seeing an array of animals with the ocean and city backdrop is a Sydney must do.
We stayed at Darling Harbour,Pyrmont, easy to get to everything Light Rail,Ferry,Walking distance to Fish Market,Casino,Coles, across the bridge to Central City walking distance to everything or use the light rail,,malls everywhere,,lots of people,,get out early to avoid the thousands, visted Manly on the fast Ferry well worth the visit.
Sydney is a great place to visit. There are a lot of attractions just in the CBD (central business district) alone. It is a 'walkable' city with a lot of footpaths and extensive public transport options. The views especially along the coast/quay are splendid. There are also a lot of eateries scattered around town, some more famous and easier to get to than others. Also a lot of places for shopping. There are a lot of other attractions outside of CBD, of course. Most of these are accessible via public transport, which is very reliable. But because Sydney is big, some journey may take a long time, and will need prior planning.
Sydney is a beautiful place to visit. There is so much to do and explore. Excellent shopping, great restaurants, easy to get around, the waterways are spectacular, and there are different things happening all the time. Will definitely return.
Such a scenic city, with a little bit of everything that you could want in a holiday! The Harbour is stunning and all the cultural and world listed areas are within a short walk of each other. Public transport is really good, and if you feel like stretching your legs, you can walk to most places you want to visit (just be mindful that Sydney is surprisingly hilly!) So many shows (musicals, operas, comedy, music) to see, and take in! SO many beautiful tourist attractions to see as well make Sydney a wonderful place to visit. The city manages to seamlessly blend its old and character areas with modern infrastructure beautifully!
Sydney is a vibrant beautiful city. It has something to offer every age group and if you up for it you can find something fun and exciting to do 24/7. Great restaurants, cafes, late night drinking venues if needed. Beautiful sights to see. Sydney harbour bridge, the Opera House, Taronga park zoo, The Botanical Gardens, the blue mountains, the Hunter Valley just to name a few. The ferry service from Circular Quay to Manly was fabulous. Which is a great opportunity to see the Harbour Bridge and Opera House from the water. The train service is also a great way to see Sydney. It is fast and efficient! With the ease of just tapping in and out with your bank card.
We had booked this room online via booking.com for our 20 year-old son who was at Sydney Airport but could not do it himself as he did not have a phone there. The hotel itself was fine, but what we really liked was the front-desk person who went above and beyond when I called at (local time) 3:00am and requested a wake-up call for my son. He said that there were no phones in the rooms, but that he would personally go and knock on the door and wake our son so that he would not miss his 6:00am flight to Brisbane - and he did. Kudos!
I loved my stay at the Little National. I had stayed in similar ‘little’ hotels in London so was pleasantly surprised at how large the room was and the super king-sized bed was incredible! Loved the smart features for lights and blinds. I order Uber Eats a number of times and food was brought up to my room with a cutlery pack straight away. I arrived at 10.30am and was fortunate a room was ready. Location was perfect as it’s right above Wynyard Station, very convenient to get to and from the airport.
This hotel is extremely well-located - close to the new light rail system and the train system (for the airport), shops, restaurants, the Royal Botanical Garden, the excellent art gallery, etc. - and just two light rail stops to Circular Quay (for the Opera House and the Rocks). It's a heritage hotel, and has so much more character than most modern hotels. We were also pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was, given its CBD location. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Very convenient located next door to shops and two stations. Close walking distance to Darling Harbour. Lobby doorman were always so cheerful and helpful. This certainly enhanced our experience. The rooms are very insulated, could not hear sound on the street or in the corridor. Beds are large and comfy, love the duvet, love the fact you don't have the "tight sheets" like many other hotels. Notes about cleanliness of tap water is very reassuring.
When you want to be in Sydney but not in the CBD this is great. Good transport links to city via light rail (tip get off at Randwick and walk down Belmore Rd). The hotel is a beautiful old terrace full of charm in a leafy street opposite park with all mod cons. Staff were lovely and, on a really hot day, we were delighted to receive an upgrade on arrival to a room with air-conditioning. Much appreciated after we got off at the wrong light rail stop (see above!!)
The Hotel is right at Bus Stops in both directions for the 525 and 526 bus routes, providing good access to Olympic Park Station (within comfortable walking distance for the younger and fitter!). Also for the younger and fitter, most of the major sporting venues are within 15 minutes walk - ANZ Stadium, Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney Showground, Hockey, Aquatic, Netball and Athletics Centres and Ken Rosewall Arena (Tennis).
Manly, Sydney
The location of the Quest is superb. Wonderful spot across from the harbour. So many things to do. It’s just across from the ferry wharf, so you can go to the city or other areas in the harbour. So many places to eat and drink. The hair dresser downstairs was wonderful. There was plenty of tea coffee biscuits and a good amount of milk provided. Not like other hotels that usually lack in quantity.
Great location, all CBD and Darling Harbour attractions within walking distance, loads of dining options and entertainment in the area; you can hop on light rail or train if you need to cover larger distances - Town Hall and Museum stations are just a short walk from the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, room was cleaned every day and the pastries and coffee downstairs were superb.
It is obvious that an effort has been made to renovate and improve, with new carpet, big TVs etc... I particularly appreciate the linen on the bed. I also loved the fact I was given some vouchers to get my breakfast from the café next door, which is very good. The location of the hotel is also great, very near to Town Hall for transport, Darling Harbour and the CBD.
Great modern and well appointed property. Great scenic location under Sydney harbour bridge. Nice outdoor bar area over looking the harbour/water. Close 5 minute walk to The Rocks and Circular Quay. Wilson parking stations are very easy walk and close to the hotel. One of the cleanest well presented hotels I have stayed in.
The Hotel was close to Mascot McDonalds, KFC, and Krispy Creme Donuts. I did have to walk across a major road to get there though. In the morning I checked out the Penthouse and there was an excellent view of aircraft taking off from Sydney, Kingsford Smith Airport and the coffee was good. I got some great photos.
Excellent car parking rates for central Sydney (at the time of this review $25 per day, which is half that of some other Sydney CBD hotels). Very clean (as always) and well organised for Covid (a new factor for a review!). Nice staff. PS an excellent Thai restaurant is next door but one, highly recommended
This is a very centrally located hotel. I had meetings in Sydney CBD so they are all within walking distances from the hotel. I really liked it when front office staff allowed me to check in at around 10:00AM which was fantastic after some 8 hours flight. The Gym is decent and so were the pool.
Sydney
I got a good vibe as soon as I walked up to check in. I quickly received my room key and told of all the amenities of the hotel. Location in a good neighbourhood close to Green Square Station with short commutes to both the airport and CBD.
Sydney Central Business District, Sydney
Very convenient location in Sydney CBD, close to Barangaroo wharf, Darling Harbour, Circular Quay, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Pitt Street Mall. Many restaurants and shops nearby. Spacious apartment with ample kitchen to cook in.
The hotel is very well-situated near the Sydney domestic terminal, making it an excellent choice when departing early from this airport. The hotel itself was clean, quiet, and modern. The staff were helpful and friendly.
The location was terrific. The hotel was a short walk to the Mascot Station and was near a grocery store and some great restaurants. It was easy to get to Sydney CBD and tourist sites.
AMAZING view - better than anything I could’ve expected, and this has now jaded me for any other Sydney CBD hotels. Bed was super comfortable as well.
Good hotel great location and staff Not sure it was worth 5 star price tag as other hotels in area and CBD are very similar at less
North Sydney, Sydney
best value for money. at less than half the price of city hotels, and only 2 train stops to the cbd.
