From the glitz and glamour of the Star City Casino and trendy King Street Wharf in Darling Harbor to the waves of the Northern beaches, Sydney is full of great restaurants, bars and shopping.

Sail under the iconic Harbor Bridge on a ferry and take in a world class performance at the Sydney Opera House. Circular Quay is also home to the exquisite waterside Botanical Gardens and the Museum of Contemporary Art. The Sydney Tower is the highest point on the skyline and offers a restaurant with panoramic views.

Whether it's the quirky King Street in Newtown or the elegance of the Woollahra, travelling outside of the center uncovers each suburb's distinct flavor. The famous Bondi Beach is the starting point of a walk along the cliffs to the equally photogenic beaches of Bronte and Coogee.

The city was so vibrant and offerred amazing views of the Opera house and harbour bridge which looked different at different times of the day. The city was smelly, crowded and some places a little dirty like every other big city around the world. The public transit was an excellent way to get around the city. We got an Opal card and loaded $50 and it was good for a week. Although the trains to the airport don't fall under the weekly $50. No one at the train station at the airport was able to explain this clearly to us. Definitely ride some of the ferries just for the fun of it. We used ferries for most of our transportation and it was breathtakingly beautiful especially at night from Circular Quay to Pyrmont Bay. We visited in second week of January 2024 and the weather was perfect. It was not at all temperamental like Melbourne's and you knew exactly what you could wear the whole day.

Sydney is the most incredible city. Layered in history with incredible geography and natural beauty. Nature is everywehre and yo can even hear the call of currawongs. It is a warm city and the evening strolls with a breeze off the Harbour are sublime.

The most liked feature of Sydney for me was the greenery (...

The most liked feature of Sydney for me was the greenery (parks and gardens) and harbour areas where there was always somewhere to sit down and take it in, feeling like there was space despite being in the city. It all connected well, we walked Chinatown on the Friday night for the market food to Darling Harbour for ice-cream and along King Street Wharf for a refreshment. It is worth checking those places I've mentioned early in the trip to then know where to revisit for dinner or drinks plans later. Public Transport (PT) was easy, we mixed it up via train, bus and cruise during our long weekend visit and had no issues despite being from a regional location and not users of PT.

Being from Melbourne I had reservations about Sydney (the great rivalry!) However I loved it there, the harbour is absolutely beautiful. I recommend taking a harbour tour ferry, not just the public transport ferry, as you get a guided tour!

I liked the beaches , Coogee and Bondi, both beautiful with soft sand. Both very clean ! Just beware of the strong waves and pay attention to the lifeguards instructions as they are only there to keep everyone safe and do a wonderful job! The harbour is absolutely stunning with a great atmosphere and vibe. So many places to enjoy a meal or drink and take in the gorgeous views. I found parking in Sydney very difficult and quite expensive, so would definitely recommend public transport.

I'm a Sydney local who has traveled extensively.

I'm a Sydney local who has traveled extensively. Sydney has it all - a beautiful harbour, museums, parks and landmarks, excellent food, but the real kicker is the culture! If you love museums, theatre, art, museums and music, there's so much more than the iconic and fabulous opera house. Also check out local theatre such as Belvoir, Sydney Theatre Company, Bangarra Dance, Ensemble, as well as music at the Recital Hall and my fave small museum: The Barracks, near Hyde Park for a docent-experience of life in the colonies in a heritage soldiers barracks building. The Royal Botanic Gardens on the foreshore near the opera house is a wonderful (long) amble / link to the art gallery, state library, Barracks and City of Sydney museum, and Australian Museum along Macquarie street.

Great location in Sydney city center. Short walk to Central train station (well connected to airport), right next to several tram lines, and next to Chinatown. About 10 minutes on the tram to get to Circular Quay, Sydney Opera House, and all the sights. The hotel itself was somewhat dated but it was clean, affordable, and the staff were friendly and kind. The downstairs bar was also pretty nice with reasonable prices. Overall for the price point and location this would be hard to beat for a solo traveler. Definitely recommend.

Our 3 bedroom apartment really was an oasis on the water. The accommodations were excellent. Beautiful view. Modern appliances. Wifi. TV Apps. Everything was not-notch. Shopping, food court, and parking onsite. 2-minute walk to the ferry landing and to public transportation to Olympic Park. Our check-in process went smoothly with personal walk-through and explanation of appliances, security, and onsite amenities. Of the ten apartments and hotels we had on this vacation, this one was by far the best!

Convenient location - 2 train stops away from airport and 2 train stop away from CBD. Train station is right next to the building. Neat and clean neighborhood with all the amenities- a Woolworths just right around the corner and some restaurants nearby. We found a couple REALLY good neighborhood restaurants with very reasonable price (Restaurant 233 - Japanese Restaurant). It is a nice change from the rapid pace of CBD.

You can WALK from the Sydney airport terminal to the the hotel on a safe sidewalk (even at night) in less than 15 minutes. The hotel is only around 100 USD per night which is beyond reasonable for Sydney. It is by no means a luxury stay, but that is not what they advertise. The bed is comfy, it was quiet, clean, safe and economical. What more can you ask for at an airport hotel? Thankful for the stay, thank you!

Cute boutique hotel with a stunning rooftop bar, lounge and workspace. This was one of the only hotels that acknowledged our honeymoon with a little note and complimentary sparkling wine upon arrival. This was a lovely touch and surprise, especially on our first night of the trip! They kindly accommodated early check in which was greatly appreciated :) Good location in the CBD!

What an incredible hotel! Everything was flawless - from the room and abundance of towels to the warm greeting, impeccable service, and exquisite decor. Having stayed in hotels globally, I must say this experience was truly outstanding, especially considering the great value and convenient location. Room was clean and comfortable, definitely worth the price compared to the other hotels across the city. There was a little issue with my room when I checked-in, however the front office lady was very approachable and helpful. She re-arranged me with a new room immediately! Cheers to the amazing staff in the front office and concierge!

This is a very centrally located hotel. I had meetings in Sydney CBD so they are all within walking distances from the hotel. I really liked it when front office staff allowed me to check in at around 10:00AM which was fantastic after some 8 hours flight. The Gym is decent and so were the pool.

What a great stay. The staff are generous, kind and really professional. We loved the cleanliness, the great breakfast. We've previously stayed in other 'corporate' hotels in the CBD, that were significantly dearer, and this hotel, although further from Central Sydney, was a lot better.
