Nice city. People are generally friendly & helpful. A lady staff at the town hall station was extremely helpful when we reached the station at night for direction to the castlereagh hotel on 30/11/17. Public servants in particular are primely important to make a difference for all tourist. Public servants are usually the first line of contact for any visitor to a new country. The gentleman who checked us in at the castlereagh hotel on the night of our arrival on 30/11/17 was extremely helpful and efficient in getting us into our room. He is a cheerful lot each day when we meet him at the front desk. Hotel is very clean and convenient. Hotel has a self service laundry facility at no extra charge, very useful. Room is a little small though, but, the service and efficiency of the staffs made it up to all. Kudos 💪🏼Castlereagh.. will return at the next opportunity. F&B, supermarket & shopping are all close by. However, the shops close very early, making it rather boring if one prefers to shop than drink or party! Luckily, the supermarket WOOLWORTHS closes at 10pm and that is a bonus for us. We love Woolloomooloo Darlinghurst, rushcutters bay, Pitts point and barangaroo.. each has its charm and flavour! Interesting architecture skyline too.
Best place to stay for the view of Sydney harbour is the North Sydney Harbour View, great public transport at your door, great walking/running tracks especially over the Harbour Bridge. Good comfortable accommodation in and around the city if you want to be right in the action with an average price of $150 AUD, you can pay more and I would if I was staying for more then a few days but if your there for the night life go cheaper as your only in the room to sleep. The down side is if you drive even though you pay good money for your accommodation you will also be hit with an average $25 per day for parking, I feel that should be included in the price. Down side is NSW still have the lock out laws so you need to find a good place you like before 0100h. Good idea if you want to be escorted around is to jump onto OZ Party buses and they will take you out for dinner, move you around on a Disco bus to experience up to 4 night clubs or pub depending on the party bus you jump on. During the day you can jump on the ferry to manly and walk to the Spit Bridge then bus it up to Military road and down to the zoo and make your way to the bottom of the zoo and catch the ferry back to the CBD, shower change and hit the many bars and Restaurants in and around the Rock or Opera house. If your after a great hassle free night out without the thugs hit the Newtown gay friendly area where everyone is there to party and meet new people. I found this area to be so friendly and safe to walk around. Great food as well!!!!
Rooms were clean, however, i didnt expect that the room is smaller than i thought. Pictures are misleading =)... but it's ok.The 3 of us fits ourselves in anyway.Bedsheets are neat and comfy, location is great it's just in the heart if the city. Very convenient to walk around. It's a good choice.. Thumbs up Sydney hotel CBD.
There's construction all over the city it can get noisy. Light rail is ok to Randwick and Glebe. Always check for weekend train trackwork. Regent square has good eateries. Shop at Newtown for books and clothes Walk all the way to Maroubra by the sea.
The harbour never disappoints and weather very good, even in Winter. The light rail up George St makes getting up to Circular Quay a breeze and from there the ferry service is excellent. Don't miss the views from the Opera house steps, or from Taronga Zoo, some of the best scenic views in Sydney. Also, try the cafe on the top floor of the museum of contemporary art. If you like traditional but brilliant Italian food and wonderful service, try Beppi's restaurant.
We spent the day doing the sights of circular quay and darling harbour. We used the curtains to get around and did lots of walking. We had dinner in a small.pub which was great, onbthexwaybtonour venue.
Newtown, Sydney
We loved this neighborhood so much at the beginning of our trip that we decided to stay here at the end of our trip instead of our originally planned CBD hotel. It’s walking distance to so many cafes, restaurants, and shops and right around the corner from the train station making transportation so easy. The staff were super friendly and allowed us to stash our bags upon arrival since we got there early and also before we left since we had a bit of time before heading to the airport.
Super easy to reach the international terminal with a quick Uber ride or they do provide a shuttle for $8/person. If you're with more than just yourself, the Uber will probably be cheaper. It was a reasonable walk away from a Dominoes and was everything you could need for an airport hotel that isn't directly connected to the airport. Would have no issues staying here again for another international flight out of Sydney airport.
An excellent hotel in the heart of Sydney's CBD. This is the second time I've stayed here and it's one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Staff are super friendly and accommodating to all your needs, extremely clean suite and the bed is very comfortable. The oversized rooms are great too. I recommend this hotel to anyone wanting easy access to walk around the CBD and it's only a 8 minute walk to Town Hall station.
Arriving at 6 am, the early check in after a long flight from Europe was much appreciated! The location of the hotel is great for touring Sydney, as you are basically in between Darling Harbour, Harbour Bridge and Circular Quay, so within a 15 minute walk to the major attractions. And also compared to other hotels in the area it is very good value for money.
Location is perfect everything was close by: chinatown...best food open until 2am Darling harbour a walk away Pitt str mall close by, barangaroo close...it was amazing! Also the hotels shower was THE BEST we did wana get out. Also bonus was the chromecast!!!! And a HEATED POOL!!! my stay was perfection!10stars
The location of this hotel is very good to explore Sydney and also very convenient to get from and to the airport. The rooms are not big in size but super modern and very well equipped. The staff is friendly and helpful, I enjoyed my stay there very much and was very happy with this choice.
In CBD, within walking distance for lots of shops and restaurants. Right next to train station and buses. Cheap compared to other hotels. Most staff were very lovely. Easy to get in and out. Breakfast packs were so good- included muffin, yoghurt, fruit, muesli bar and juice.
comfortable rooms, fluffy towels. Also good noise insulation so one gets a good night’s sleep even with all the city noise. Great hotel bar as well- great vibes and cocktails. Very convenient location if one needs to stay in cbd. Easy walk to get to train station to airport.
Sydney Central Business District, Sydney
Location is perfect for the Sydney CBD. Room is cosy and has great design touches. Overall interior design is up there with luxury design hotels. Bar and and upstairs restaurant is a unique rooftop style experience rare to find in Sydney
The location is very convenient to the train to/from Sydney airport. The staff were excellent and were exceptionally helpful when our cruise was cancelled, especially as I was unable to connect to the hotel's wifi.
This is my 'go-to' place in Sydney now as the location is excellent and it is value for money relative to other hotels this close to central CBD. It is comfortable and staff are always helpful (24hrs).
we went to Sydney to see Hamilton. Hotel was within walking distance of the show, Darling Harbour, QVB, Westfield Pitt Street and Central Railway - albeit within walking distance means up to 1.5 kms.
The Grace is splendid. I’ve stayed at many hotels in the CBD & the Grace is the winner. I travel to the city around 8 times a year & The Grace is where I now choose to stay - EVERY TIME!
Great location, close to station and my work. Very comfy bed and pillows. Overall, one of the better hotels I've stayed at in Sydney. Good internet.
It was close to Sydney Olympic Park where our horse was competing at Sydney Royal Easter Show. Price was great value compared to other hotels around.
Great location to Sydney airport. Easy walk to and from hotel. If raining catch a hotel cab for $10. Wifi and streaming to hotel tv was super.
friendly and helpful service, great location, although parking not on the premise but reasonably close and cheaper than other hotels in CBD.
Best Hotel in Sydney CBD in that price range. Location is more than great.
Perfect location close to the Darling harbour. All necessary facilities in the area around the hotel. If you fance Casino, this is the right spot. All Aussies are very friendly, but in this hotel the personnel was extremely helpful end friendly. I would say the best I have ever experienced and I have travelled a lot... The breakfast is VERY good.
Great place stay in Parramatta..
