From the glitz and glamour of the Star City Casino and trendy King Street Wharf in Darling Harbor to the waves of the Northern beaches, Sydney is full of great restaurants, bars and shopping.
Sail under the iconic Harbor Bridge on a ferry and take in a world class performance at the Sydney Opera House. Circular Quay is also home to the exquisite waterside Botanical Gardens and the Museum of Contemporary Art. The Sydney Tower is the highest point on the skyline and offers a restaurant with panoramic views.
Whether it's the quirky King Street in Newtown or the elegance of the Woollahra, travelling outside of the center uncovers each suburb's distinct flavor. The famous Bondi Beach is the starting point of a walk along the cliffs to the equally photogenic beaches of Bronte and Coogee.
Sydney’s Kingsford Smith International Airport is the main gateway to this capital city and only a short distance from the city center. From a dorm bed in King’s Cross to a 5-star, serviced apartment in the central business district, Booking.com will ensure you don’t miss the excitement in this dynamic city down under.
Number one are the famous bridge and the opera house, which we were lucky enough to visit for a performance of MIss Saigon. We equally loved our tour of Government house, which has seen many generations of NSW Governors. In addition, we found travelling around the harbour area by ferry great fun . There are lots of museums to visit in Winter. Eating out was great too with lots of places to choose from. Transport to and from the airport was really easy also.
Sydney is an exciting g place to visit, so much to see and do. Obviously very busy and full of visitors but it’s not difficult to find places that are quieter, away from the crowds. Trips on the ferries are a cheap and easy way to get around and see the city from a different perspective.
So much to see and do in Sydney and not enough time. Beautiful gardens, great beaches, great restaurants, lots of sightseeing and friendly people. We managed to eat at quite a few great restaurants, walked around Bondi beach, traveled to Manly beach by ferry, climbed the harbour bridge, went to the Rocks market, walked around Hyde park, went to a cat cafe and did some shopping in the five days we were there.
As far as cities go, it was not as busy as we expected it to be. Circular Quay, The Rocks and Darling Harbour did not disappoint. What was outstanding was the public transport. Never waited longer than a couple of minutes and it was so clean. Best way to get around for sure!
We stayed in the suburb Barangaroo which I found to be very central to all the tourist attractions we had planned. It's also within walking distance to almost everything, including the Lyric theatre if you are heading to Sydney to watch a show. The hotel was also only 1 block away from the waterfront where there are a heap of dining options. We booked a 3 entry ticket which got us into Madame Tussauds, Sealife and the rooftop Zoo next door - this was a good deal. We had a blast at Madame Tussauds and the Aquarium. The zoo was different to any I've exprienced because the animals are so close to you. They only take maybe 45 minutes to an hour each to go through. I highly recommend the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb if you have time. The views are amazing and the guides give you interesting facts about Sydneys history as well as the history of the bridge. Taronga Zoo is also a must - seeing an array of animals with the ocean and city backdrop is a Sydney must do.
We stayed at Darling Harbour,Pyrmont, easy to get to everything Light Rail,Ferry,Walking distance to Fish Market,Casino,Coles, across the bridge to Central City walking distance to everything or use the light rail,,malls everywhere,,lots of people,,get out early to avoid the thousands, visted Manly on the fast Ferry well worth the visit.
LOCATION. The Rydges Sydney Harbour is located in a heritage like area so do not expect it to be all glass and shiny. Its quite rustic and gives chill vibes away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney CBD which is a fifteen minute walk. You can see the harbour bridge outside your window if you get a good view, it’s a 2-3 minute walk to a cafe/restaurant and luxury brand shopping (Sydney galleria DFS) and 5 minute walk to the circular quay station. Take train from international airport to circular quay ($18.31-$19). 100% would stay again.
I loved my stay at the Little National. I had stayed in similar ‘little’ hotels in London so was pleasantly surprised at how large the room was and the super king-sized bed was incredible! Loved the smart features for lights and blinds. I order Uber Eats a number of times and food was brought up to my room with a cutlery pack straight away. I arrived at 10.30am and was fortunate a room was ready. Location was perfect as it’s right above Wynyard Station, very convenient to get to and from the airport.
We were very happy with the accommodation at this hotel. Excellent choice for breakfast to set you up for the day. All the staff we came into contact with were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The porterage was brilliant - wish I had made a note of his name but he was on duty on Saturday 8th and Monday 10th April - saw to our luggage and arranged our taxi to the airport. This was the second time we have stayed here and if we ever go back to Sydney we would certainly return
This hotel is extremely well-located - close to the new light rail system and the train system (for the airport), shops, restaurants, the Royal Botanical Garden, the excellent art gallery, etc. - and just two light rail stops to Circular Quay (for the Opera House and the Rocks). It's a heritage hotel, and has so much more character than most modern hotels. We were also pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was, given its CBD location. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
This is one of the best hotels I've stayed world wide. The service is excellent and I was so well looked after on check in from concierge, to check out. Room was immaculate, so clean and loads of space. Location is lovely, easy to access anything in Darling Harbour and a quick hop to the city. This is literally one of my favourite hotels in the world. The entire team should be commended.
The staff were exceptional and genuinely caring. Most Sydney hotels are recovering from two years of pandemic trade restrictions. Generally Australians need to step up and become more productive I think we have been sitting at home too much and we have become lazy. Room cleanliness in all hotels I have stayed at in Australia is not was it was pre Covid.
A great little spot in Sydney cbd. The staff go above and beyond for the guest which is rare in hotels these days. The facilities are modern, the mini bar is well stocked, the rooms are cleaned well and regularly. The room service is very tasty. Hotel bar is hip. I will be coming back in my monthly trips to Sydney
Excellent car parking rates for central Sydney (at the time of this review $25 per day, which is half that of some other Sydney CBD hotels). Very clean (as always) and well organised for Covid (a new factor for a review!). Nice staff. PS an excellent Thai restaurant is next door but one, highly recommended
Location was excellent , right in middle of Sydney olympic park precinct, parking set up and directions a little confusing, because there are essentially 3 hotels in the same vicinity, i found i was using the wrong lift on several occasions, needs better directions, especially from staff and signage,
Right in the middle of the CBD, a few minutes away from Circular Quay, Opera House, QVB, Darling Harbour. There are also tram and underground train stops nearby, including easy connection to the airport. Breakfast was good normal continental one. Staff was friendly. Room was comfortable and clean.
The location was fantastic, right above the train station, 2 stops to the airport and 2 stops the other way to the CBD. The bed was so comfortable, and the shower was amazing. Housekeeping was every other day. The apartment had everything, dishwasher, washer and dryer as well as TV connectivity.
The best is the hotel location. It is a very short walking distance from the central train station. I took train from the Sydney airport to central station and walked to the hotel by myself with luggage. The hotel staff was friendly and I liked the breakfast. The room was clean and nice.
The buffet meal offered a wonderful variety of choices and the restaurant offered good value meals. The hotel was well located for easy access to the CBD. The view across to the harbour was good. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable.
The view was amazing and the location was so easy, train from airport -to hotel was so easy. facilities and food were great and staff were very helpful. Can't fault the place and will be returning for all future Nth Sydney trips
I like the location to either domestic or international airport The breakfast was great the shower was the best I ever been in any hotels The workers at the check in a so nice and very helpful and also the staff in the cafeteria
Larger room and greater comfort than comparable hotels. 50th birthday note and gift from hotel was a nice touch. Location in Haymarket provides easy access to restaurants, Capitol Threate, light rail and CBD.
Absolutely loved our stay! We’ve done a couple of over-nighters in the CBD in various hotels and this would be one of our favourites. Really relaxed not pretentious or “stuffy”!
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful Hotel is very close to parking station and airport, great place to stay for stop over or when flying out of Sydney.
I love how it’s close to my office and CBD! I also love that you don’t have to ask for a cleaning service, they’ll do it everyday!
