Nice city. People are generally friendly & helpful. A lady staff at the town hall station was extremely helpful when we reached the station at night for direction to the castlereagh hotel on 30/11/17. Public servants in particular are primely important to make a difference for all tourist. Public servants are usually the first line of contact for any visitor to a new country. The gentleman who checked us in at the castlereagh hotel on the night of our arrival on 30/11/17 was extremely helpful and efficient in getting us into our room. He is a cheerful lot each day when we meet him at the front desk. Hotel is very clean and convenient. Hotel has a self service laundry facility at no extra charge, very useful. Room is a little small though, but, the service and efficiency of the staffs made it up to all. Kudos 💪🏼Castlereagh.. will return at the next opportunity. F&B, supermarket & shopping are all close by. However, the shops close very early, making it rather boring if one prefers to shop than drink or party! Luckily, the supermarket WOOLWORTHS closes at 10pm and that is a bonus for us. We love Woolloomooloo Darlinghurst, rushcutters bay, Pitts point and barangaroo.. each has its charm and flavour! Interesting architecture skyline too.
Rooms were clean, however, i didnt expect that the room is smaller than i thought. Pictures are misleading =)... but it's ok.The 3 of us fits ourselves in anyway.Bedsheets are neat and comfy, location is great it's just in the heart if the city. Very convenient to walk around. It's a good choice.. Thumbs up Sydney hotel CBD.
The location of the hotel property. The rooms itself and the price and quality of the rooms. But as far as service and support is concern well there’s just no care factor there by the staff. That part of the service sis just disgusting and given accordingly.
Due to COVID restrictions, we haven't been to Sydney for several years. We flew in after visiting relatives in Perth and stayed for four days, just to look around at changes and take in a show at the Capitol Theatre. The extended light rail is a great improvement for travelling around the inner city. We used nothing else. Did a lot of walking, just refreshing our memories of previous stays. Found The Rocks area and Darling Harbour a little depressing compared to previous visits.
Love visiting Sydney from the country but sometimes difficult to get around as transport changes so often. Need more helpers at certain locations to assist us country folks as city workers too busy to help.
Wow. what a fun place. Friendly people, quaint restaurants, cafes and bars. Great transportation from trams to ferries. We were there for four days. We had tours booked for three days and still didn't see everything. I would recommend getting the off/on bus tour so you can scope out certain places and then you have a better idea of where things are. Get an Opal card and use the ferry system and trams to get to a lot of the places.
Studio very clean and well appointed. The bed was really comfy and air con was excellent. Plenty of room and very nice kitchen / lounge area. Bathroom and shower very good and towels changed every day. Hotel is centrally located and easy access to trains / trams./ buses. Darling Harbour and Chinatown 7 mins walk, ,Circular Quay for harbour area is 20min walk or a few mins on tram. Everything was easy to get to. Highly recommended property for your Sydney stay.
Super easy to reach the international terminal with a quick Uber ride or they do provide a shuttle for $8/person. If you're with more than just yourself, the Uber will probably be cheaper. It was a reasonable walk away from a Dominoes and was everything you could need for an airport hotel that isn't directly connected to the airport. Would have no issues staying here again for another international flight out of Sydney airport.
I have stayed here multiple times over the last couple of years and will continue to use this hotel when staying in Sydney. The hotel is value for money, it is close to Town Hall station and a short walk to CBD centre, and The Rocks and Darling Harbour. Staff are friendly, its quiet and secure. The rooms and hallways are clean, I have never had an issue with cleanliness at this hotel.
Mascot, Sydney
This hotel is very close to the Sydney Airport domestic terminal and so it nice and convenient for travellers. The room itself was very spacious with a large bed, good desk fro working and fridge/microwave in the room. I stayed for six nights and could easily have stayed for longer. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in Sydney for business or need a short stop over.
It is obvious that an effort has been made to renovate and improve, with new carpet, big TVs etc... I particularly appreciate the linen on the bed. I also loved the fact I was given some vouchers to get my breakfast from the café next door, which is very good. The location of the hotel is also great, very near to Town Hall for transport, Darling Harbour and the CBD.
- The room size was massive, - on quiet areas and the double glassing windows also help to reduce the noise. - the price was very affordable, I would have to paid 4 or 5 times more if I stayed in the hotels in the CBD. - close to amenities, bars, cafes, etc. - close to public transport and on the good (less traffic) days, the cbd only 15-20min away
Location is always ideal for Sydney. this hotel, although a little dated now as it’s one of the oldest larger hotels in Sydney, still stacks up to the competition. if your not a ‘lush’ this is comfortable, clean and functional. great deal for the price too. our family room was amazing a great harbour and city combined view .
This hotel is close to restaurants, bars, ferries, trains and buses which makes it very attractive. The price is also very reasonable compared to other hotels in Sydney. Liked the laundry and the gym although it could do with a few more pieces of equipment. The Nespresso machine and lounge area, pool and spa were good too.
The location of the Travelodge York Street is perfect for getting from the airport by train and in walking distance to circular quay, the rocks, the Barongaroo precinct and the harbour bridge. You really don’t need a car here at all! The accommodation is very comfortable and clean and very good value for a budget hotel.
Location is perfect everything was close by: chinatown...best food open until 2am Darling harbour a walk away Pitt str mall close by, barangaroo close...it was amazing! Also the hotels shower was THE BEST we did wana get out. Also bonus was the chromecast!!!! And a HEATED POOL!!! my stay was perfection!10stars
Sydney Central Business District, Sydney
Location was amazing, right in the middle of the CBD. Was in walking distance to many top tourist destinations in Sydney. The room was spacious with a beautiful modern interior with many amenities. Hotel staff was really accomodating and understanding. Highly would recommend and return back.
The staff were exceptional, the rooms were on the smaller side but the use of space exceeded a huge room in other 5 star hotels. You really don’t need the space, when the room is designed so well. Bar up top is amazing, one of the best in Sydney CBD and it’s part of the hotel!
Staff were so lovely and super efficient, and check in and check out were a breeze which is always a plus! Loved that we could use the pool at anytime and for as long as we wanted- which is very different to a few hotels in the Sydney CBD at the moment.
Awesome cheap accommodation just on the outskirt of Sydney CBD sitting on Wentworth avenue. Parking was one of the best choices we seen in Sydney CBD when compared to other hotels. The discounted parking rate was a big saving for our weekend away.
Big shout out to Edel and the other staff at Rydges Sydney Airport. Very helpful. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived so we were offered a larger room. Great customer service. Rooms are quiet even though the hotel was quite busy.
Excellent location, $30 taxi to the airport (which seemed expensive (not the hotels fault), great in room facilities including fridge, kettle etc. Was pleasantly surprised as it was of a much higher standard than UK Travelodge’s.
Bed was comfortable, the room was very spacious and had a wonderful view of Sydney CBD and Parramatta river. I enjoyed this Meriton also Kent and Pitt street Hotels . Look forward to staying in the new Sussex Meriton.
The location is great if one needs to be close to Sydney airport, the facilities are all good, and the hotel is clean and comfortable. We stayed for 3 nights and I will come again!
Close to Central Station to get to the airport early in the morning. Easy walk to Chinatown and CBD shopping. Didn’t eat in the restaurant/bar but it looked good.
The location is good, easy to access the park and Pitt Street. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Parking fee is cheaper than most of the hotels in CBD.
