Nice city. People are generally friendly & helpful. A lady staff at the town hall station was extremely helpful when we reached the station at night for direction to the castlereagh hotel on 30/11/17. Public servants in particular are primely important to make a difference for all tourist. Public servants are usually the first line of contact for any visitor to a new country. The gentleman who checked us in at the castlereagh hotel on the night of our arrival on 30/11/17 was extremely helpful and efficient in getting us into our room. He is a cheerful lot each day when we meet him at the front desk. Hotel is very clean and convenient. Hotel has a self service laundry facility at no extra charge, very useful. Room is a little small though, but, the service and efficiency of the staffs made it up to all. Kudos 💪🏼Castlereagh.. will return at the next opportunity. F&B, supermarket & shopping are all close by. However, the shops close very early, making it rather boring if one prefers to shop than drink or party! Luckily, the supermarket WOOLWORTHS closes at 10pm and that is a bonus for us. We love Woolloomooloo Darlinghurst, rushcutters bay, Pitts point and barangaroo.. each has its charm and flavour! Interesting architecture skyline too.
Rooms were clean, however, i didnt expect that the room is smaller than i thought. Pictures are misleading =)... but it's ok.The 3 of us fits ourselves in anyway.Bedsheets are neat and comfy, location is great it's just in the heart if the city. Very convenient to walk around. It's a good choice.. Thumbs up Sydney hotel CBD.
Sydney is a city that has something for everyone ,it has the arts ,wide variety of shopping, nightlife eg clubs bars music entertainment, live bands that regional areas of NSW miss out on The Enmore theatre one of the greatest live venue sites in Australia that still showcases live music theatre to audiences from Aussie bands eg intametely that stadium arenas will never do .Traffic is mayhem at the best of times. The Queen Hotel in Newtown great place for a drink..Newtown has a Bohemian ,hipster kind of vibe about it ,it is one of the cool parts of Sydney with friendly faces ✌️
Friendly weather . Water interests and many eateries. Shop for special gifts. Take in the cultural diversity. Museums, Art galleries. Parks historic churches and a few good bookshops with coffee tres bien.
Sydney has the best harbour in the world, but there are far fewer people here than in major UK and US cities. Paddy's Markets has everything you need for souvenirs, and the IGA above is a great place for international food.
We only visited for one night [this time] in order to attend the opera. Have visited many times and never disappoints. Best to explore on foot, except for the harbour where a ferry is recommended. Transport is excellent, except when train drivers decide to strike. There are plenty of options however.
This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. It is small, but very cozy. The staff is wonderfully helpful and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and accommodated. The design is fresh and chic and very well branded--from their toiletries to the room signage. There is a light rail stop across the street and through a parking garage that takes less than 15 minutes to get into Sydney CBD. This place is perfect for anyone that wants to be on the outskirts of the CBD in a quaint and charming little hotel.
Very good value for the money and in an excellent location to explore the city. Its a short walk from the Central train station, which itself is a straight shot from the airport. Restaurants and shops are an easy walk from the front door of the hotel, both in Surry Hills and Haymarket, and the slightly more athletic (the hotel is at the bottom of a hill!) can walk to Oxford St., Darlinghurst, the CBD and the Sydney Cricket Grounds. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.
Loved this boutique hotel and will definitely stay there next time I'm in Sydney. I normally stay at luxury hotels in the CBD for work but I enjoyed this stay far more. The room was clean and really comfortable. It was super quiet at night time even tho the hotel its on Oxford St and the staff are really friendly. They have an area downstairs where you can make a coffee and help yourself to a yummy pastry or two in the morning. Thank you Mrs Banks Hotel :)
The hotel team went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable amidst COVID. The hotel is beautifully designed and the team retained it's sophistication and a superior quality service despite the rest of the CBD being quieter than usual. I felt very safe and thoroughly enjoyed my stay, which exceeded my experience at other hotels in the CBD. The pool is stunning and a great bonus at the end of the day. Thanks for everything. I really appreciated it.
I've always like the location of this hotel. I used to stay here when it was branded as another hotel chain - it very close to everything, and the food options plus a supermarket close by are an attraction for me. The rooms are a little dated and basic but clean and the beds comfortable, which is a little more than I expected for the price. Good value for money in comparison to other CBD hotels and the Reception staff were helpful and friendly.
The location is excellent, right in the middle of the CBD. The Queen Victoria Building is close by and it’s an easy walk to Darling Harbour. We’re walkers, so we walked everywhere - the Rocks, Chinatown, The Phantom, playing at Mrs MacQuarie’s Seat. We arrived by taxi but left on the Airport train which is only a short walk from the hotel (St James Station). Breakfast is very good. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Stayed here for one night before I left to go home to the States. Hotel is only a 5 minute drive from the airport and they have a shuttle to drop you off (not sure about pick up though). They don't have an elevator so be prepared for that! The room was AMAZING. Also, dinner was FANTASTIC. Breakfast was okay for me, but that's only because I'd had the same type of breakfast for a week straight at other hotels.
The Hotel is right at Bus Stops in both directions for the 525 and 526 bus routes, providing good access to Olympic Park Station (within comfortable walking distance for the younger and fitter!). Also for the younger and fitter, most of the major sporting venues are within 15 minutes walk - ANZ Stadium, Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney Showground, Hockey, Aquatic, Netball and Athletics Centres and Ken Rosewall Arena (Tennis).
I liked the view, the simplicity was good for the 2 days that I was there. The staff was extremely polite and helpful, when I got lost I called them for help with directions and they were so patient with me. Food locations nearby so you were never hungry. The hotel was not located directly in the Sydney CBD (Harbour Bridge) but it was close enough to uber there and back or catch the train in 10mins.
I had an executive room which was really great and the cost of this room with executive lounge access was better than the same "level" hotels standard rooms around the area. This is why its the only CBD hotel I will now stay at when in Sydney. Walking distance to Darling harbour / china town. A really convenient location for my needs.
The location was perfect as we like to stay close to the airport the night before we fly out. Most airport hotels are a bit plain and standard with limited luxury. Skye Suites was anything but! Beautiful suite with plenty of room and so close to restaurants and cafes. The staff were very welcoming and helpful also.
The location is great: The hotel is downtown at walking distance from Circular quay, the Opera House and Darling Harbour. It is very easy to go from the airport to the hotel (Wynyard station) by train. The staff was very nice and helpful, and let us check in at 8am.
the hotel has a check in lobby in the top floor. the view from the cafeteria is great and there is even a fireplace in the lobby deck. nice and modern interior and comfortable bed. you can walk from the Sydney domestic airport if you want.
Sydney Central Business District, Sydney
Location is perfect for the Sydney CBD. Room is cosy and has great design touches. Overall interior design is up there with luxury design hotels. Bar and and upstairs restaurant is a unique rooftop style experience rare to find in Sydney
Big shout out to Edel and the other staff at Rydges Sydney Airport. Very helpful. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived so we were offered a larger room. Great customer service. Rooms are quiet even though the hotel was quite busy.
The location is good, easy to access the park and Pitt Street. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Parking fee is cheaper than most of the hotels in CBD.
St. Leonards, Sydney
This is one of the nicest hotels you can stay at in Sydney it is modern, clean, has fantastic friendly staff and is by far the best value.
Location was excellent, great walk to Circular Quay. Easy access to train to airport. Great location in CBD. Staff really friendly.
Location and transport to airport is the only feature in this hotels favour.
The staff were very welcoming , kind and helpful. The room was amazing and the room service was top notch.
