The harbour called! I’d been thinking of going there to watch the sun rise and actually woke up on time on both days of my visit to go and do so. Believe it, or not, the sunrise itself was a bit of a flop, but I did see three large cruise ships arrive.
I visited Curl Curl and Manly, using buses and the ferry. Getting around is a breeze.
Summer time means checking out the gelato. I went for halva/pistachio and Belgian chocolate in Manly. (I didn’t really make that much of a mess!)
And I discovered Laneway Dumplings. It’s very close to Nomads, but you’d possibly need Google to find it!
This wasn’t my first visit, but it looked like the hotel staff would be able to help visitors decide what to visit. I did notice a pad of Sydney maps on the check-in desk.

Like all the following, We visited the Blue mountains by coach trip, had an evening meal up the sky tower at sunset and walked to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge on a tour and also the pedestrian walk across. Walked around the outside of the Opera House and into the Botanical Gardens. Went on a trip to Manly. Ate an evening meal at Darling Harbour, had a lunch at the Queen Victoria Building. Liked the ships/submarine visit at the Maritime museum.

I loved staying in Haymarket.
I loved staying in Haymarket. The area was bustling at all hours and still felt safe to wander around at night. There are so many food choices and the local markets on Friday nights were great to explore. The Capitol Theatre is lovely, and we flew down for Jesus Christ Superstar which was fantastic! It was easy to hop a tram and explore the city.

Great central CBD location with a real boutique and cozy feel to the hotel. The decor feels grand throughout and the the room was spacious, bright, clean and a super comfy bed. Our room had a separate WC and shower which is great for couples. Staff were friendly and helpful and the included breakfast was delicious. Well worth the money compared to a lot of other hotels in the city.
Location and staff friendliness - it is really central and has great facilities. It is adjacent to Mr Wongs restaurant so getting a reservation there is all done via the front desk. I left my suit there and in all the 1000's of hotels I have stayed at in my working career - these guys contacted me and mailed me my suit..sounds natural - but in hospitality it is rare. Thank you.
Parking efficient; check-in very professional; the room was very comfortable and bigger than most hotels. The combination of the heritage and the way it has been modernised makes it a pleasure to come “home” to. My fathers office was in the building when it was a government location in the 1960’s. We have stayed there before and we will be back.
Location is central to many places within the CBD. Hotel has couple of lounge spaces to sit with family and friends and sip wine and chat. The front office staff is exceptionally courteous and ready to go out of the way to help. Traditional furniture.
Beautiful hotel very luxurious, amazing harbour views. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we have ever been to. I have stayed at many hotels in Sydney CBD this is top 1 or 2 overall we will stay again.
