Nice city. People are generally friendly & helpful. A lady staff at the town hall station was extremely helpful when we reached the station at night for direction to the castlereagh hotel on 30/11/17. Public servants in particular are primely important to make a difference for all tourist. Public servants are usually the first line of contact for any visitor to a new country. The gentleman who checked us in at the castlereagh hotel on the night of our arrival on 30/11/17 was extremely helpful and efficient in getting us into our room. He is a cheerful lot each day when we meet him at the front desk. Hotel is very clean and convenient. Hotel has a self service laundry facility at no extra charge, very useful. Room is a little small though, but, the service and efficiency of the staffs made it up to all. Kudos 💪🏼Castlereagh.. will return at the next opportunity. F&B, supermarket & shopping are all close by. However, the shops close very early, making it rather boring if one prefers to shop than drink or party! Luckily, the supermarket WOOLWORTHS closes at 10pm and that is a bonus for us. We love Woolloomooloo Darlinghurst, rushcutters bay, Pitts point and barangaroo.. each has its charm and flavour! Interesting architecture skyline too.
Best place to stay for the view of Sydney harbour is the North Sydney Harbour View, great public transport at your door, great walking/running tracks especially over the Harbour Bridge. Good comfortable accommodation in and around the city if you want to be right in the action with an average price of $150 AUD, you can pay more and I would if I was staying for more then a few days but if your there for the night life go cheaper as your only in the room to sleep. The down side is if you drive even though you pay good money for your accommodation you will also be hit with an average $25 per day for parking, I feel that should be included in the price. Down side is NSW still have the lock out laws so you need to find a good place you like before 0100h. Good idea if you want to be escorted around is to jump onto OZ Party buses and they will take you out for dinner, move you around on a Disco bus to experience up to 4 night clubs or pub depending on the party bus you jump on. During the day you can jump on the ferry to manly and walk to the Spit Bridge then bus it up to Military road and down to the zoo and make your way to the bottom of the zoo and catch the ferry back to the CBD, shower change and hit the many bars and Restaurants in and around the Rock or Opera house. If your after a great hassle free night out without the thugs hit the Newtown gay friendly area where everyone is there to party and meet new people. I found this area to be so friendly and safe to walk around. Great food as well!!!!
Rooms were clean, however, i didnt expect that the room is smaller than i thought. Pictures are misleading =)... but it's ok.The 3 of us fits ourselves in anyway.Bedsheets are neat and comfy, location is great it's just in the heart if the city. Very convenient to walk around. It's a good choice.. Thumbs up Sydney hotel CBD.
If this is your first visit to Sydney then book your stay in CBD, close to china town or Westfield. It's a beautiful city. We didn't need the car at all, we just walked around. You have many tourist attractions and things to do. If you're into the food scene you'll love all the choices around you. It's easy to get out of CBD as well using the ferry in circular quay or the train in QVB Town Hall station.
I often visit the Sydney CBD during long plane layovers. It's accessible by the train stations located under T1 & T2/3 which speed you to the CBD in 10- 15 mins, where you can either walk or use light rail to other locations. As a bonus, the trains can be paid for by a simple tap of the Opal terminal with your plastic cards (don't forget to tap off at your destination).
I needed a rest from the bicycle ride for the Cancer Council and got it. The pandemic has turned 6 months into over 2 years and l am completely Exhuasted. Truly, Brent Bu3 Ridegump on Facebook ( The Botanic Garden is a must ) Taco Bell, McDonald's and Domino's reminded me of home in the States. Thanks!
Great location at Darling Harbour -easy to walk out and enjoy local restaurants, and take walks along the water and out to Circular Quay/Opera House. Hotel rooms are small compared to many other Sydney hotels but room and bed very comfortable and of a high standard, and we had a lovely Harbour view. The hotel is spotless - everything gleams and the staff in all departments were super efficient, helpful and friendly. Food (pool bar lunches and breakfast) were very good. The pool, pool deck and views are fabulous.
I selected this hotel because of the location. It is right in the middle of the CBD of Sydney which I liked. There was easy access to everything including public transportation. The desk staff was always friendly. There was a floor to get ice, use the microwave, and get tea and coffee. I liked that there was a small refrigerator in the room. Everything was nice and clean. Woolworths is close by in case you need to buy any snacks, toiletries, drinks, or prepared foods.
Location, staff, rooms, food choices and the daily Happy hour were excellent. The view from the room was superb and was worth the price alone. North Sydney train station is a 60 second walk away from the hotel making it a great alternative to staying in the CBD. Very clean rooms with daily housekeeping and amply stocked mini-bar. Will without doubt be staying again and will be our go to hotel in Sydney from now on.
Very good location. Near from all main attractions: some steps from Sydney Cove, 30 min by walking from Sydney Opera. The best way to go from Sydney Airport to hotel is get a taxi. Is more cheaper that use Sydney subway (train). And you need take in consideration that the city is located on the hills and you need to go up or down by the stairs. Breakfast is good. Room is simple, but clean. Staff is very friendly.
This hotel was perfect for me-about 10-15 mins away from the Central Business district of Sydney. Room was spacious and clean and quiet. Bed was super confy! Neighborhood around the hotel was great-there are restaurants, coffee shops, convenience stores that are walking distance from the hotel. There are bus routes half block from the hotel that will take you to CBD. Highly recommend this hotel!
Arriving at 6 am, the early check in after a long flight from Europe was much appreciated! The location of the hotel is great for touring Sydney, as you are basically in between Darling Harbour, Harbour Bridge and Circular Quay, so within a 15 minute walk to the major attractions. And also compared to other hotels in the area it is very good value for money.
The Ibis/Novotel at Olympic Park is one of the best hotels to stay at if you've booked an event at either ANZ stadium or Qudos Bank Arena. The hotel is great value for money, and you can easily walk to and from the hotel to surrounding venues in 5 minutes. There's also a stack of great restaurants and bars within 15 minutes walk of the hotel.
The staff were exceptional and genuinely caring. Most Sydney hotels are recovering from two years of pandemic trade restrictions. Generally Australians need to step up and become more productive I think we have been sitting at home too much and we have become lazy. Room cleanliness in all hotels I have stayed at in Australia is not was it was pre Covid.
We booked a suite because it was one of the few rooms available. The room itself was outstanding value for Sydney. The staff kept the room clean and well-stocked. The view of the CBD was excellent and if it weren't for new construction, we would have had a perfect view of the Harbour Bridge. The Japanese restaurant is outstanding too.
Great location, close to central station, so easy to get around Sydney. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean modern rooms with a sensible number of charging outlets for phones and other gadgets - something many other hotels fail miserably at. Perfect for a few days visiting Sydney.
Great value for money with large first class rooms. Excellent facilities near a number of restaurants. We had an overnight stay pending our early morning flight. I’ve stayed at a number of airport hotels and this one is excellent.
Honestly everything was amazing. From the location of the hotel, to the view from our room, to the service of staff, Four Seasons Sydney may well be one of the best hotels my partner and I have ever stayed at.
Location was better than some other CBD properties previously stayed at. Quite handy to transport and convenience stores and less noisy than other hotels. Most staff were lovely and helpful.
Close to Central Station to get to the airport early in the morning. Easy walk to Chinatown and CBD shopping. Didn’t eat in the restaurant/bar but it looked good.
We stayed here for an event at Olympic Park. Hotels very neat, all needs met, comfy bed and clean bathroom. Good location to local shops and transport. Lovely host.
Friendly staff and good atmosphere punters in the pub below. Handy to Darling Harbour and Star City Casino if you want a cheaper option than the big hotels.
AMAZING view - better than anything I could’ve expected, and this has now jaded me for any other Sydney CBD hotels. Bed was super comfortable as well.
Good sized room, clean and comfortable. Obviously very convenient for international arrivals and departures. Fine as far as airport hotels go.
Location was excellent, great walk to Circular Quay. Easy access to train to airport. Great location in CBD. Staff really friendly.
Great place stay in Parramatta..
