Everything is a stone throw from the Quay view Opera House, walk over Sydney Harbour Bridge, The Botanical Gardens, Lady Macquarie's Chair visit the historical Rocks have a beer in the oldest pubs in Sydney a few claim to be. Macquarie Street is a walk up the road there is an amazing amount of history in this street, the first signs from penal colony to a colony, might be best during the week where you can access some of the buildings. If none of that suits just sit and enjoy the worldof circular key coffee and watching the world go by
Circular quay is like the Hub station of Sydney City you are guaranteed to find Trains, Buses, Lightrails, Ferrys, River cats, Jet Boats, Cruise ships and sometimes War ships. Its also the Go to spot if you really want to Wow yourself with Sydney's iconic landmarks.
Take time to figure out how to use the transportation card - some news and cafe stores sell them and then you load the cards by paying using your credit card and can use the card for ferries and trains. Loading the card with more credit card payments is tricky - May need to go to a store and have them load the card for you.
Great place to spend a day or two; plenty to see and do (cafe's, restaurants, tours, etc.) and a good place to make a base for a Sydney trip. Nice to come back at the end of a busy day and take in the scenery of the sun setting over the city from the quay.
If you plan on going to Watsons Bay by ferry, plan your return trip so as you leave on last Public Transport ferry at 4:25. Otherwise get a bus to Bondi Junction or Edgecliffe and catch a train back. There are no warnings about this posted on the timetable. All ferries past 4:25 are privately operated and therefore more expensive.
Love it, hive of activity, ferries, people coming and going, street buskers, cruise ships docking at Circular Quay, eateries, gift shops, train station, bus depots, walking distance to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, catch a ferry to Luna Park, the Taronga Park Zoo, Manly Beach. Wander to George Street shops, pubs, gift stores, cafes and restaurants.
Manly, Sydney
We loved absolutely everything about this property and its location. We loved staying at Manly, it was so easy to transfer with the ferry to Circular Quay. The property is located about 2 minutes walk from the ferry, in a very quiet street, very close to everything, beach, ferry, shops. It has a great set up, very nice apartment and it had everything we needed. It was so easy to communicate with the management and easy to get the keys, such a great system. We loved it and have nothing negative to say. Thank you for having us.
Studio very clean and well appointed. The bed was really comfy and air con was excellent. Plenty of room and very nice kitchen / lounge area. Bathroom and shower very good and towels changed every day. Hotel is centrally located and easy access to trains / trams./ buses. Darling Harbour and Chinatown 7 mins walk, ,Circular Quay for harbour area is 20min walk or a few mins on tram. Everything was easy to get to. Highly recommended property for your Sydney stay.
We loved the proximity to the rocks, Barangaroo and circular quay and MCA. Our room had a view of the harbour and Barangaroo - which was great. The room was spacious and next time we may upgrade to a room with a balcony. There is the Henry Deane bar upstairs which was great and they accommodated us with a great table since we stayed in the hotel. Very enjoyable!
Good sized room with complimentary mini bar items. Great location with only a few minutes walk to Martin Place and Pitt Street Mall. A few minutes more walking and you are at Circular Quay. Train and bus station were close by so we caught the train from the airport into the city and hotel. Second time we have stayed here and will stay again.
Great value and awesome location. We were able to walk everywhere in the City from this Hotel. Just a a few minutes to Darling Harbour, Chinatown, Hyde Park, QVB and Westfield Tower. A longer walk to get to the Rocks and Circular Quay. Free coffee downstairs was great.
Sydney Central Business District, Sydney
Room was very comfortable, a quiet Hostel, which for me is important, but SHYHA is all about the location. It’s 800 metres from Circular Quay, and from my room, through the gloomy Sydney weather, I could see the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
Everything, the staff were clear in explanation, the room was clean, had a lovely view, the hotel is well located near circular Quay. Love having the doors opened for me whenever I left the hotel. Staff were so friendly and obliging.
The room was very spacious and nicely appointed. The bathroom was huge and very modern. Everything was very clean. The hotel itself is beautiful and in a great location with easy walks to Circular Quay and Darling Harbour.
The location of the Hotel is fantastic, right near Circular Quay and the Opera House.
Weekly train ticket is probably the cheaper option if you want to venture further afield than the CBD. However it is rather expensive and cost $84 for the weekly ticket, but this still was the cheaper option for us as we were visiting lots of places and we were only there for 4 days, so gave our ticket away to some others at the airport. The cost of staying in a hotel in the CBD was expensive as well. Wouldn't stay and dine in the CBD again because of the cost. We had dinner at one of the Circular Quay restaurants 'the Sydney Oyster Cove' and being a coeliac was excited to see gluten free on the menu, however my meal wasn't gluten free when it arrived just ruined the dining experience, especially considering the cost of the food and drinks.
some great restaurants with good food and lovely views- Doyles Watsons Bay and Cafe Sydney Circular Quay
Grab a bite to eat in Circular Quay and sit on the benches that overlook the harbor and the opera house.
