A must visit in Sydney! Spend at least one night in the area so you can walk everywhere and see it all. Don't miss the open air markets, gardens, opera house, museums, boat ride to zoo, shopping, double decker train ride and the view!
Great location & convenient to buses & trains. But, just be mindful that if your hotel room is waterside you will probably have the engine noise from the ferries and excursion boats which operate well into the night.
Great spot for ferries to countless interesting destinations on Sydney's waterfront including the popular Manly Beach and Taronga Zoo. At Circular Quay itself, easy access to the Opera House, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Rocks!
If you are on a budget eat before you get to this area as it is very expensive. Going there in the evening will provide lot's of entertainment in the form of sidewalk performances. there are plenty of sidewalk bars to stop and have a drink. This is an easy place to get to and not too far from the train.
One of the better places to find good Australian cuisine in Sydney. Can be a bit pricey, but not bad compared to the rest of CBD. Lot's of entertainment and things to do, to quickly fill up a day, if you're the adventuring type.
A must see in Sydney. Check, if there is a special event during your stay (Australia Day on 26th of January; Chinese New Year; ...). Then this area is even more special! Great view of the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

This is a nice, quiet hotel in a quiet part of Sydney. It's at least 20 minutes away from the Circular Quay, but it was very reasonably priced when all the other hotels I looked at were at least $100 or more. No elevator and I was on the 3rd floor. So it's not a hotel for persons who find climbing stairs difficult. It is older and has a musty smell but otherwise is very roomy. There is no food service at all, although there are restaurants nearby.

Apartment was spotless. Loved the location. Hotel is connected to the Mascot train station (just 15 minutes and a few short stops to Circular Quay or anywhere else in Sydney's CBD) by a 2 block long pedestrian only walkway that is lined with shops (supermarket, liquor store, drug store, etc.) and a nice selection of trendy yet reasonably priced cafes. We stayed 5 nights and loved the convenience of coming home here every night after a day of sightseeing.

This is an older hotel in one of the best locations in Sydney. Less than five minutes from Circular Quay and the Opera House, walking distance to many sights, stores, restaurants, CBD, etc. The train to/from the airport is a few minutes away in Circular Quay. Comfortable ensuite room (with a shower with no door in the middle of the bathroom .. unexpected but no problem). Very friendly and helpful staff.

The location was awesome! In the middle of everything and there's regular buses available to go Bondi Beach and Circular Quay. The hotel was quaint and had everything needed for a good night's stay. They gave out discount card for some shops and services nearby. The bar next door was great and had nice seafood on Fridays - Sundays on their menus. Overall, it was a comfortable stay.

This hotel is ideally located to Wynyard Station if you're arriving from the airport. It's easy walking distance of Barangaroo, Circular Quay and The Rocks. This is the reason I chose to stay here, and because it was highly recommended by friends.

Clean, comfortable room which included a microwave, refrigerator and sink. The hotel is a block away from beautiful Hyde Park and is within comfortable walking distance of all the sites, including the Botanical Gardens, Opera House, and Circular Quay.

The Hotel is always immaculately kept, very friendly and helpful staff, centrally located to the CBD and Circular Quay. Once again a very comfortable stay.

The hotel is in a great location on the Rocks and is pretty easy to get to - I walked from Circular Quay which was easily doable.

The hotel was just a short walk to Circular Quay, The Rock and the Sydney Opera House.
Weekly train ticket is probably the cheaper option if you want to venture further afield than the CBD. However it is rather expensive and cost $84 for the weekly ticket, but this still was the cheaper option for us as we were visiting lots of places and we were only there for 4 days, so gave our ticket away to some others at the airport. The cost of staying in a hotel in the CBD was expensive as well. Wouldn't stay and dine in the CBD again because of the cost. We had dinner at one of the Circular Quay restaurants 'the Sydney Oyster Cove' and being a coeliac was excited to see gluten free on the menu, however my meal wasn't gluten free when it arrived just ruined the dining experience, especially considering the cost of the food and drinks.
some great restaurants with good food and lovely views- Doyles Watsons Bay and Cafe Sydney Circular Quay
Grab a bite to eat in Circular Quay and sit on the benches that overlook the harbor and the opera house.
