*It's the heart of the city with fantastic activity as trains/ferries/trams/cruise ships all come together....just sit and watch the people ! *3 min walk to the Rocks area or Opera House *Easy to access from anywhere in Sydney
Everything is a stone throw from the Quay view Opera House, walk over Sydney Harbour Bridge, The Botanical Gardens, Lady Macquarie's Chair visit the historical Rocks have a beer in the oldest pubs in Sydney a few claim to be. Macquarie Street is a walk up the road there is an amazing amount of history in this street, the first signs from penal colony to a colony, might be best during the week where you can access some of the buildings. If none of that suits just sit and enjoy the worldof circular key coffee and watching the world go by
Circular quay is like the Hub station of Sydney City you are guaranteed to find Trains, Buses, Lightrails, Ferrys, River cats, Jet Boats, Cruise ships and sometimes War ships. Its also the Go to spot if you really want to Wow yourself with Sydney's iconic landmarks.
Take time to figure out how to use the transportation card - some news and cafe stores sell them and then you load the cards by paying using your credit card and can use the card for ferries and trains. Loading the card with more credit card payments is tricky - May need to go to a store and have them load the card for you.
Great place to spend a day or two; plenty to see and do (cafe's, restaurants, tours, etc.) and a good place to make a base for a Sydney trip. Nice to come back at the end of a busy day and take in the scenery of the sun setting over the city from the quay.
If you plan on going to Watsons Bay by ferry, plan your return trip so as you leave on last Public Transport ferry at 4:25. Otherwise get a bus to Bondi Junction or Edgecliffe and catch a train back. There are no warnings about this posted on the timetable. All ferries past 4:25 are privately operated and therefore more expensive.
Our room was a good size, with a nice comfortable bed, a fridge, iron and ironing board. Plenty of mirrors including a full length one which was really useful. The shower was a good size (though the actual bathroom was quite small) with good water pressure. We were attending the fireworks on NYE, and although not in the city this hotel is a short walk away from Mascot train station which is only 12-15 minutes to Circular Quay, so it was actually really convenient and a fraction of the price of the hotels in the city.
Sydney Central Business District, Sydney
Situated close to Chinatown was absolutely perfect for a short walk to Paddy's Market, Central Railway Station & the Light Rail to give access to the Airport, Trains & Circular Quay with Ferries on Sydney Harbour to enjoy Taronga Zoo, Manly & a host of other destinations. The cleanliness of Maze was outstanding, due to the efforts of both Management & certainly the guests. Awesome.! Oh, and Maloney's Hotel only 50 metres walk away, is a "must" to visit. Trust me lol
Studio very clean and well appointed. The bed was really comfy and air con was excellent. Plenty of room and very nice kitchen / lounge area. Bathroom and shower very good and towels changed every day. Hotel is centrally located and easy access to trains / trams./ buses. Darling Harbour and Chinatown 7 mins walk, ,Circular Quay for harbour area is 20min walk or a few mins on tram. Everything was easy to get to. Highly recommended property for your Sydney stay.
What is not to like. We had an incredible room overlooking the harbour and bridge. We woke up for sunrise in the morning - simply stunning. The room was very spacious with good facilities. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel facilities were awesome, including a massive gym and very pleasant pool/spa. It is a fairly short walk down the hill to circular quay and the rocks. We loved our one night in luxury!
We felt the hotel meet our needs and feel that the price was reasonable. We liked how close the hotel was to the rail station, literally right outside the hotel's front door. We liked how the area wasn't touristy but full of locals. It wasn't that far of a walk to Circular Quay, probably 25-30 minutes. Breakfast was good and we like it was included in the room rate.
Sydney Central Business District, Sydney
A decent-sized 2-bedroom apartment that was well-appointed, comfortable, and spacious. The bathroom was a tight squeeze but nothing major. The location was very convenient with Circular Quay, QVB, and shopping all within the walking distance. The staff was helpful, professional, and very businesslike.
The location was exactly where I wanted to be in the center of Sydney. From the hotel I enjoyed walking as far as Circular Quay. Because of there was only a code I needed to remember for the outside door and the room door it was one less thing I had to remember to bring with me.
Excellent location for Opera House and ferries from Circular Quay. We have stayed at this hotel a number of times as we enjoy its old world charm and quietness. The upmarket bar has a good atmosphere and is a good way to start (or finish!) the evening.
Location of hotel very good, close to Circular Quay and Darling Harbour. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Spacious room and very comfortable bed.
Great hotel near Circular Quay, Sydney Opera House, and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. You can even get a room overlooking the bridge!
Weekly train ticket is probably the cheaper option if you want to venture further afield than the CBD. However it is rather expensive and cost $84 for the weekly ticket, but this still was the cheaper option for us as we were visiting lots of places and we were only there for 4 days, so gave our ticket away to some others at the airport. The cost of staying in a hotel in the CBD was expensive as well. Wouldn't stay and dine in the CBD again because of the cost. We had dinner at one of the Circular Quay restaurants 'the Sydney Oyster Cove' and being a coeliac was excited to see gluten free on the menu, however my meal wasn't gluten free when it arrived just ruined the dining experience, especially considering the cost of the food and drinks.
some great restaurants with good food and lovely views- Doyles Watsons Bay and Cafe Sydney Circular Quay
Grab a bite to eat in Circular Quay and sit on the benches that overlook the harbor and the opera house.
