You can walk across the bridge from the "Harbour Bridge Stairs on Cumberland Street, The Rocks - this is on the Southern or CBD side of the City. The best time is early morning to watch the sunrise behind the opera house.
Take the cheapest tour of the lot when it comes to the Bridge, walk across the bridge on the pedestrian lanes beside the road traffic. One of the best views of the Opera House and inner harbour, and at your own pace.
Great view of it from the botanical gardens, avoid walking over from Milsons Point if there is a chance of rain - it doesn't make for a great walk when it pours down. (take the train to Milsons point you will see the bridge)
Views are awesome from the pedestrian part of the bridge but it is almost impossible to get a wheelchair onto the access - loads of steps. My husband had to carry my daughter up them while I humped the wheelchair. Perhaps a lift could be installed?
We had a large one bed apartment with stunning Sydney Harbour views located on the 20th floor. The room was very spacious and well thought out. The hotel is located very close to North Sydney train station or if you feel like a walk the Harbour Bridge is a short distance away so we enjoyed many walks across it to reach the CBD. North Sydney much less busy than the city. There are super markets close by and a coffee shop in the foyer area. We would book again for sure.
The hotel location is fantastic. Very convenient for Circular Quay, Opera House, Harbour Bridge, The Rocks, Royal Botanical Gardens etc. The old world charm of the hotel is great, if you like that sort of thing. The rooms are large and well equipped. The Concierge services are fantastic and the staff are really knowledgeable and friendly. We really love this hotel and going back to yesteryear.
The location of the Travelodge York Street is perfect for getting from the airport by train and in walking distance to circular quay, the rocks, the Barongaroo precinct and the harbour bridge. You really don’t need a car here at all! The accommodation is very comfortable and clean and very good value for a budget hotel.
Was provided with a room upgrade with a stunning direct uninterrupted view of the Harbour Bridge & Opera house. Was also given a complimentary bottle of Champagne, wonderful customer service. Adam at the Hotel bar down stairs was also extremely friendly & helpful with his selection of cocktails.
Great location, easy to find, friendly front desk and kitchen staff, great size room and lovely bathroom. Located in a quiet, nice street. Great view of the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge from the back garden-was really nice to look at over breakfast.
Room was very comfortable, a quiet Hostel, which for me is important, but SHYHA is all about the location. It’s 800 metres from Circular Quay, and from my room, through the gloomy Sydney weather, I could see the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
The location of our room was more than perfect to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The room was overlooking the Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House.
Location is great. The room has a view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Close to Circular Quay for bus and train. The pool is very good as well.
Location, location, location - train, bus and taxi at the door. Great spot for train spotting with views of the harbour bridge. Magnificent harbour views.
View incredible. We could see the Opera House and Harbour Bridge from our bed.
Be sure to climb the Harbour Bridge and take a trip on the ferrys.
