We arrived Kettering so late but Jonathan was waiting with warm greeting to us! The vicinity area of the house was so nice and wildlife was running around! We observed a few Pademelons, Nativehen, Swift Parrots, and Eastern Barred Bandicoot! That was a paradise for wildlife lover like us and we loved to come here again. Other than wildlife, a Pony was just living near us and she (he?) was so adorable!

Breakfast was good, eggs, bacon, bread & cereal. There was also juice, coffee and a good range of teas to choose from. The fridge also had some beers and mixers in if at very reasonable price if you happen to run out of your Own drinksm plus there were some great red & white wines. The location was great and the views were awesome

A warm, cosy and quirky cottage set apart from main house. Own entrance and a secure little garden for a pet to have a little runaround. Everything that opens and shuts. Great stove, oven and anything a traveller might need to feel comfortable. A small lounge room with a wood burning fire and lots of books. This would be an incredible space to spend a few wintry days in. Owners are lovely, they greet you, they show you things and then they leave you to relax and unwind. Situated in a wonderful little village and close to amazing country and sea drives throughout the south. I hope to be back one day

Stunning property with all required amenities of a very high quality. Loved the large balcony with views of the bay and bush. Had a wonderful morning watching all the wildlife. Hosts were incredibly welcoming with all required information provided and easy to follow instructions on accessing the property. Would definitely stay here again.

Since last visiting Kettering the car ferry service has greatly improved, no extended waiting times. The Cafe next to the terminal is very relaxing: I recommend the chai latté The chandlery is now a great restaurant, sit outside on the deck, Seafood Chowder is amazing

We headed to Kettering from Devonport and we had travelled...

We headed to Kettering from Devonport and we had travelled for 9 hours! That was so tired for my drive but we finally made it... We were not intended to stay for a long trip in Kettering, just a short stopover for us to Bruny Island on the other day, but I really made a wrong decision as I preferred to take 1 more night rest here after a long drive. No food nearby, and we had it finished in Bridgewater Cole and brought everything we need there. Anyway, the Parnella Kettering was a very good place for taking rest as long as you planned to go Bruny Island so early on the other morning.

Kettering is the gateway/ferry to Bruny Island (which we toured around for a day). The little township has a hotel. We ate there and at Peppermint Cove in Woodbridge on the waters edge. We also ate at Phoenix Restaurant in Snug. All served quality food. We took a drive to Huonville and Cygnet and did some wine and cider tasting. Our accommodation at Oyster Cove Chalet was quiet and very comfortable. Within an hour and half drive to Tahune Air Walk or Hasting Caves and Spa - although we didn't have time for them (Next time!)

Kettering is a beautiful relaxing place to stay either before or after a visit to Bruny Island. While it is close enough to Hobart to just do a day trip I highly recommend staying overnight. The Bruny Island Gateway Cafe is also an excellent choice for breakfast or lunch!

A very good location for exploring the region and Bruny...

A very good location for exploring the region and Bruny Island. However it can locally be very windy with squalls and rain because the westerlies are funneled through the a pass in the hills from the Huon Valley. Don't expect Haute Cuisine.

Kettering is a small coastal town approximately 60 minutes south of Hobart. The surrounding area is rural and very scenic . We used the ferry at Kettering to go to Bruny Island and spent the day over there

Quiet location with bush garden within a couple of minutes drive to local hotel and other eateries. Close to Bruny Island Ferry. Only 4 private rooms each with outdoor deck and BBQ looking into bush garden. A defined kitchen area. Morning and evening we had visits from bush fowl and pademelons. Little touches like fresh flowers, night light in bathroom, room freshener had been thought of. Wines and snacks were on hand at reasonable prices.

A beautifully appointed modern house with fabulous views over the Kettering harbour. This house was the accomodation highlight for our trip to Tasmania. The kitchen, bathroom and bedroom were just superb. Walking distance to Bruny island ferry and the Kettering pub.
