Featuring a water park, outdoor pool, large inflatable jumping pillow and more, BIG4 Saltwater @ Yamba Holiday Park is located in Palmers Island, on the outskirts of Yamba. Loved everything, water park, playgrounds, table tennis, bike track and the access to the river. And the coffee!
Featuring air-conditioned accommodations with a patio, Deck house is located in Yamba. Located 2.5 mi from Yamba Lighthouse, the property features a garden and free private parking. Everything - the deck and yard was a complete highlight. Recommend to anyone.
This town has loads of character. And if you run out of things to do Yamba is only a 20klm drive down the road. Well worth a visit for some rest and relaxation. Lots of options for meals from pubs, clubs and boutique coffee shops.
Maclean is a quiet river town located right on the Clarence river. There is a good little shopping centre for convenience purchases. There are several boat ramps available. The town is handy to both Yamba and the beaches as well as the serene beauty of the river
Definitely worth the short detour off the Main Highway. though I came the backway along the river from Lawrence. Known as the Scottish town of Australia there is plenty to see, plus exploring around the local area is worthwhile. Though the river was still very murky after recent floods, I still did a spot of fishing both here and at Yamba. Lovely coffee shops around town and nice variety of shops. Loved the local op shop ( of course). Great views from the lookout, and stop at The Pinnacle (nearby) with its local history. My visit to Ulmarra was fabulous. So many lovely galleries and arty studios, and the most filled up 2nd hand bookshop I have ever seen. Could've spent hours in there. All great for such a small town (worth the detour, once again). Also had a great lunch in the backyard of the local Hotel , overlooking the river. So tranquil.
Accommodation at MAS Country Club Maclean Motel is perfect, you can park your car -leave it -as your able to walk right into the Club-then also to the main street -Maclean Hotel serves great Meals, plus there are all the shops in the main Street . Best ever Bakery -Maclean Hot Bread & Cake kitchen -Greatest Ever Sausage Roll with Mashed Potato !! TRY IT !! Also Rotary Lookout-great view, amazing new Bridge is now open on hwy, plus only 14klms from Yamba for a visit.
Being dubbed "The Scottish Town in Australia" Maclean has a fair bit of history. Plenty of old buildings and houses and right on the river. I found plenty to interest me in the town. Botero Coffee is in town. They distribute all over NSW. Coffee shop attached to the warehouse with breakfast as well as great coffee.
Motel owners recommended having dinner at the nearby Maclean Hotel. Their T-bone special and Brushetta were absolutely first class - really exceptional. Maclean is a quiet historic town just off the highway - a hidden gem with lots of friendly locals - and some amazing food.
Modern, clean and comfortable. Close to town with cafes and a supermarket.
