Located in Millthorpe, The Commercial Quarters - Room 3-has air conditioning, free WIFI, TV and fridge has free WiFi throughout the property. Location was great. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Ease of self checkin was so convenient as I travel and always check in late. Great parking right outside of rooms.
Providing free WiFi throughout the property, The Commercial Quarters - Room 1-has air conditioning, free WIFI, TV and fridge is located in Millthorpe. There was a cold snap when we were there, however the rooms were cosy and the beds very comfortable with electric blankets. It was very clean and tastefully decorated.
A beautifully maintained and friendly historical Australian town with wonderfully preserved heritage dwellings (from hotels, colonial style homes and a winery shop). The local pub was friendly place with lovely food, as were the Providore and Old Mill cafe. A gem of a place with a quiet peaceful country ambiance which I pray will not be destroyed by noise and unbridled suburban development.
There is one very good restaurant, several fine wine outlets, a pub, several cafes, shops and an occasional tapas bar. Easy walk around town with some beautiful gardens and a few places of historical interest to see, but the museum is only open at week-ends. Additional accommodation will apparently soon be available at the Commercial Hotel, which is in the throes of being renovated.
Millthorpe was beautiful. We walked to dinner each night at the Railway Hotel and food was exceptional. Portions generous and varied. I had a beautiful local wine at the hotel and was able to walk to the 'Angullong' Cellar Door next day and buy some to take home. Railway Cafe also served great food. Unfortunately we missed the Museum as it only opens Saturdays from 11am but we'll go back when we can to see this. Most shops are closed early in the week but they're all doing a great job dealing with Covid restrictions.
A very lovely little historic town. Great wine tasting. Lovely cafes and boutiques. Nice pub which serves really good pub food. A very good restaurant, Tonic for that fine dining experience. I would highly recommend visiting Millthorpe.
Gorgeous little town only 15 minutes from Orange. Definitely recommend, especially to avoid the hustle and bustle. Terrific little shops and great cafes. The Railway Hotel was great for a meal, and don’t forget the wine tasting - literally at the front of the Motel.
We went for the Garden Ramble, which was lovely, but would like to go back to Millthorpe Nursery Garden. Some good eating places - we had dinner at Tonic on Saturday night - really delicious. Great coffee etc at the Railway Hotel, and Rachelle's Art Gallery is great - did some Christmas shopping there. Millthorpe is easy to drive around, but you need to be fit to walk long distances, as it is up and down hill.
Very clean, lovely restoration of a great historic building. Of course with modern comfort. Clear communication of how to access building and key box once inside. Great auto lighting upon entering and when I opened my room was a lovely welcoming touch with bedside lighting turned on and a welcome envelope on the dresser. The bed was soooo comfortable. I was a bit worried about the fact there isn’t a private ensuite although the cleanliness and set out of the hotel, and being that there is 3 bathrooms really wasn’t an issue.
The staff /owner was very helpful. It was heavy rain when I got there. The car park was nearly full. There was a car who parked two car spaces. I rang the hotel and it got resolved quickly. Thanks again.
