Located in Ulverstone, just 1.8 miles from Buttons Beach, Goat Island Bungalow has beachfront accommodations with a garden, a private beach area, a tennis court and free WiFi. We loved stayed at Goat Island Bungalow. The self-contained cottage was 5 star in comfort and luxury. Being able to sit out the back and watch the ocean was so very relaxing. All kitchenware was provided and it was easy to access local shops for groceries. Thank you to our host for this amazing stay.
Featuring a garden, a spa & wellness center, and a terrace, Leven River Retreat provides accommodations in Ulverstone with free WiFi and city views. House was beautiful & modern, has great views and very comfy- Is set up very well and has everything you could ever need. Checkin was super easy with a lockbox at the property. The Host were super great with communication plus they went above and beyond to make our stay special. If I could score higher than 10/10 I would. We had a great time and can’t wait to come back! :)
Beautiful friendly place there are plenty of bakeries and restaurants My favourite cafe was a little place called Thirty Three cups coffee shop the coffee was excellent and the food was Delicious the service was excellent
Its a smallish town with enough. What makes it great is that it is central to the North coast - so it doesnt take too long to drive to see things. Cradle Mountain, The Nut, the Arboretum, and heaps of walks through valleys are all accessible. Devonport and Launceston arent too far away - but arent much of an attraction. There are a few nice bakeries and cafes, while the best burgers are at a chicken takeaway on the main road. Best restaurant is in Penguin 5kms down the road. PS - what an eyesore their main clock tower is.
Ulverstone is located on the coast and mouth of the River Leven which to me is always appealing has some great historical buildings, great river front and coastal reserves with playgrounds and amenities, an easy walking town, has a great feel. If I was to compare, Ulverstone is a mini Devonport without the industrial riverfront. Stayed at the Lighthouse Hotel which is well presented, good value and the rooms are updated. We needed accommodation before the Spirit of Tasmania ferry only 20 minutes drive.
Ulverstone has coffee shops, bakeries and a wonderful craft brewery. We had one night and very happy we spent time here before the ferry to Melbourne. It is really worth visiting as the smaller communities would appreciate the support from tourists. Friendly people and great service. Highly recommend a meal at Buttons Brewery Bar on Wharf Street. Meals were innovative and tasty!!! Plenty of parking around town. Oliver’s bakery was delicious too.
Ulverstone is a beautiful beach side town. The beach is lovely and kid friendly. There are some great restaurants and lots to do in the main st. So easy to get around and do things. Oliver’s bakery is great for cakes, breads and snacks. Great meals at the Beachway. Herb’s pizza are amazing!
Ulverstone is a beautiful place to visit I go there all the time. Very easy to walk to town lots to see and some beautiful beaches. Waterslide right on the beach also a huge apex park right next door with petal bikes for hire from the corner shop which has the best ice-cream in town
The apartment that we stayed in was immaculately clean and a wonderful place to base yourself to explore the north region of Tasmania. We really enjoyed Ulverstone which is a nice friendly town which is only a 10 minute walk over the bridge from the property. The kitchen facilities were top class and beds very comfy. As an added bonus we were able to use the BBQ on the substantial patio which overlooks the river.
The house was really comfortable. A quick walk into town and to good restaurants. Quiet except for the train which was actually charming. Great views of the water from upstairs deck. Our hosts couldn’t have been more helpful. Lots of good advice and very responsive. There were so many supplies in the fridge when we arrived. Thanks for that. We loved our two days at Ulverstone!

Doug and Christine were terrific hosts! They are super friendly, kind and offer a fantastic experience as they share all their knowledge of Tasmania. It is a perfect stop if you are travelling around the area and would like to know the amazing little secrets, such as how to get to see penguins!
Really well sized room with the booking.com genius upgrade. Everything was very clean and spacious. Bathroom was big and well equipped with a heater. Lighting in the room was fantastic. Location also great (15mins from Devonport), especially if you have a car!
I had the Rump Steak for dinner and have to say that every thing on the plate was cooked to absolute perfection, best steak I have had in a long time. The mushroom gravy was amazing, the chips were super fresh and tasty and the salad was really tasty as well.
their hospitality was fantastic, their extra touches made it very special the room and especially the breakfast was wonderful, they were very accommodating truly great hosts, would highly recommend their B& B and them as hosts excellent stay
It was an amazing location, and the room was spotless. Checking in and out of this property was easy and stress. Everything was thought about in the Cabin. Would definitely recommend to others and stay again myself if in Ulverstone
The location is fantastic for exploring Ulverston, cradle mountain , penguin and the surrounding areas. Kim and Anthony are fantastic and extremely helpful.
