My wife and I stayed at Hotel Continental Golden Sands for nearly two months this Summer and experienced an excellent and intimate environment! Just less than 5 minutes walk to the beach, in terms of cleanliness, this hotel was just immaculate and by far supercedes all other hotels in the area. The food was delicious and full of variety, supporting even our picky Canadian tastes/likes 😊. The staff were all professionals and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. Special thanks to Mr. & Ms. N..... , Ms. Eva, Mr. Kosta, Mr. Grisha and Mr. Boris, Ms. Melikan, Ms. Evgenia and not to forget the great bartenders Mr. Kelown and Mr. Nikola. This was our first stay at Hotel Continental but it will not be our last. We intend to spend our summers enjoying the beautiful Golden Sands and stay at Hotel Continental again. Many thanks to all of you for our great stay and see you next year, Hotel Continental! -Will

Beautiful modern building, exceptionally clean and comfortable, friendly staff, and incredible food (our compliments to the chef). By far the best food we’ve had at a hotel or resort in Bulgaria. We didn’t mind the walk down to the beach, which was mostly through the forest and worth the walk because the beach is beautiful. It’s not overcrowded and there were always chairs to be found. The distance between chairs is also more than other hotel beaches in the area, which was nice. Nice beach bar with good snacks and drinks. We stayed on the 2nd floor but the room and large balcony still had a glorious view of the sea through the lush green forest. The hotel is not particularly designed for young children but we had a great time with our boys anyway. We loved everything about this hotel and will gladly return as soon as possible.

The hotel is excellent, fully renovated, very nicely decorated, modern and clean. Its location is very good, better to book this side of golden sands, the beach is nicer. The rooms are large and pretty, and have a pleasant balcony. Beds and pillows are comfortable, the bathroom is also large and brand new. Our rooms were in the second building with sea and pool views and it was perfect. The outdoor pools are good, and the terrace with the sun beds and sea view is great, you can always find a spot and relax there. The gym is good also. As for the private beach, it’s is well organized, large enough, clean and the bar there is practical, but if you are late you might not find a place. The lobby is big with comfortable couches. On rainy nights, we spent our evenings there and all the other customers too, playing with cards and board games. The asian and the italian restaurants are both excellent, definitely a must. The breakfast is fine also, there’s a lot of food and generally all the food is good. Mo, from the animation team is very fun and friendly. The staff in all restaurants are really nice and welcoming, always smiling, they work fast and are very efficient. I asked them before by email to reserve a table at the asian restaurant for the second day of our arrival for the birthday of my son, they did and they got him a small birthday cake with candles. I definitely recommend this hotel, don’t hesitate to stay there!

Our two room apartments for 4 people was pretty big, also with big corridor, 2 toilets and big balcony . It nice have a lot of space. The garbage was taken out daily, towels were changed every other day, bed linen once a week. Breakfasts are delicious and varied, the same every day, but a very large selection. The room has a kitchen with the necessary utensils for cooking. The beach is 5 minutes walk away. All entertainment and the central promenade are also nearby.

    Golden sands now is very turistic and way too crowded.

    Golden sands now is very turistic and way too crowded. The walking corridor along the beach and the hotels now is full of stores and restaurants and sometimes you cannot even walk. There are several things to explore in the area besides de beach ( which to me is better towards Varna than golden sands). Varna sea garden, and harbor are a nice thing to explore while you are there. Also other historical places as the Ovech fortress or the aladhza monastery are good options. We also took our chances and went to Nesebar old town ( 2 hours from varna) totally worthed.

    Good place for laying in the sun.

    Good place for laying in the sun. No historical places nearby - the closest is Cape Kaliakra. Best place to eat - Ambassador Steak House: excellent food (best chicken quattro formaggi; great chinese style chicken; great teriyaki chicken; great rose wine by the glass) and great services. Worst place to eat - McDonald's: horrible food, double the regular prices, rude staff (we could not pay because there was an apparent error with the "EFT") and the staff chief (probably) laughed with his colleagues and mumbled in their native language.

    The beach and waves were nice, also the restaurants. My little grandson enjoyed the child-directed entertainment and pools etc. That said, this beach was a bit noisy and overly commercial for my taste, next time I will look for something a bit more quiet.

    The quality of the water and sand is impeccable.

    The quality of the water and sand is impeccable. Unfortunately, the tendency to crowd with new constructions and private beaches is similar to the phenomenon on the Romanian coast. It is clear that developers want to profit in the short term and are detracting from the natural quality of the tourist area.

    It's perfect for people who want to relax and get out of the city. The beach is very good, more green, mountains, flowers like roses. All the restaurants that we went to were good. And they are cheap.

    Rooms, especially bathrooms hadn't been cleaned in a while...

    Rooms, especially bathrooms hadn't been cleaned in a while and this sucked, since I chose this hotel for the advertised cleanliness. Also, the hotel never made public the fact that it didn't have an elevator...we were given rooms on the third floor and we are in our late sixties...I asked for a lower floor (they had rooms on lower floors but they refused)...I would not recommend this hotel to my enemies !

    It's the perfect apartment for a relaxed getaway. The view from the balcony to the ocean is really inviting to have the breakfast outside. The rooms are cosy and were really clean and the kitchen was equipped with everything you need. Even a washing machine is there. Just some footsetps and you are at the beach. And luckily the apartment is located in the northern part of the Golden Sands beach where it's not crowded at all even in high season.

    The best all inclusive experience I ever had, the hotel exceeded all my expectations, from cleanliness to the hotel staff and best of all, the food, couldn't believe all the varieties available, everything was unbelievable. Would definitely come back here the next time we're in Bulgaria, 10 out of 10 from me!

    A cosy apartment equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We especially liked the 4 pools right in front of the apartment. WiFi was great. The beds were comfortable. The host was very responsive & friendly. When we return to Golden sands, we'd for sure choose this apartment again.
