A view of the falls is featured at this historic Haliburton Highlands bed and breakfast. Our gracious host Sandy (and Cody) was very welcoming and hospitable. She is a wealth of knowledge on the area and willing and eager to share this history with you. Her breakfasts are homemade and out of this world! Our accommodation was clean, very spacious with a view of the lake and the sound of the running water from the dam. Close to both Minden & Haliburton Villages.

GetAways at Haliburton Heights is located in Haliburton. The accommodations opens out on to a balcony overlooking the property grounds. All the rooms come with a cable TV and a seating area. The people that worked there were incredible...they went out if their way to find my kids toboggans to use...the room was clean..also Tim Hortons is close...my sister and I will be coming back in the summer!
Located in the Haliburton Highlands, this motel is adjacent to the Haliburton Nordic Trail System, an 50 mi cross-country skiing trail. It features an outdoor pool and an on-site restaurant. The staff are very nice, welcoming and friendly. The rooms are very clean, organized and comfy.
Featuring an outdoor pool, this B&B features an enclosed rooftop terrace with a hot tub and views of the surrounding area. This property is truly amazing! That’s not an understatement. The 12 sided home is truly incredible, situated on top of 140 acres of woodland in the Algonquin Highlands, overlooking Halls Lake, and that’s just the beginning. The rooms all come with their own bathrooms, your balcony, a love seat for chilling out, and comfortable beds. Everything about this place is so well done. The guests have their own living room overlooking the main area of the house and looking out over Halls Lake. The several trails cut through the woods, and the large beaver pond with nesting Blue Herons, provide a great nature hike. The saltwater pool is fresh and clean, a great way to get refreshed after a hike, or lay around the pool to enjoy the sun and read a book. The breakfast served by Jessie is just WOW! Awesome! Don and Jessie are wonderful people, and hosts that let you be. I can’t say enough good about this place, it is truly amazing!
The surrounding lakes and fall colours made the trip enjoyable. The town itself remains small and surprisingly hadn't changed much since our last visit 40 yrs ago! We found some good restaurants nearby with exceptional food
The beach area was great with picnic area. Also great hiking along the river. Downtown there's a cafe next to Stedmans that serves awesome food. It wasn't open this time but we've been there before. The Chinese restaurant, on the main road was very good and staff was friendly, choice of Canadian food as well! Love shopping in the small stores in town, usually can always find a gem in one of them! Great place to visit for sure. Also nearby there is a great movie theatre in small town of kinmount! Also the fair in kinmount is a great time to be there! Lots going on if that's what you like, but also just chilling is great too!
Minden is a quaint little town full of character. Lots of walking trails, unique shops and makes a great jump off point to visit other little towns around the area. Haliburton is only about 40 minutes from here and there is even more to do there.
Beautiful town, we visited in the off season so a lot of restaurants were closed and a lot of road construction going on. But that didn’t take away from the gorgeous scenery and views we seen every day.
Minden is a small, quiet town. There is a very good small museum and gallery. There aren’t many restaurants right in the town, but there are several nearby along the highway and Haliburton is not far away. There are many art studios along the highway, with studio tours in the summer and fall.
Minden is a great location as a home base for day trips thorough the country roads to view the amazing fall colours. Surprisingly, for such a small village, there are a variety of good places to eat and while traveling there are numerous artisan studios to visit. There seem to be be activities for all seasons making it a delightful return destination as well.
