Located 2 miles from Kelso Beach, Quality Inn Owen Sound features an on-site restaurant and heated indoor saltwater pool. Guest rooms offer cable TV and free WiFi. I don’t know why the review score for this hotel was not high. In my opinion, I believe this hotel deserves much higher credits. There are many highlights for this hotel: 1. The breakfast is great! 2. The swimming pool is great, clean and warm. The spa was out of service when I was there, but it’s not a big deal. 3. Big shout out to the ladies working at front desk and the breakfast area. They are super nice and friendly. My family had a great time staying in this hotel. Highly recommended! We will come back next year when we go to sauble beach. One thing I want to mention, this hotel is not a new building, so it may look old inside, but it’s clean and provides everything you need.

This Ontario motel features rooms with microwaves and refrigerators. The motel also has barbecue facilities and is within a 5-minute walk of the Billy Bishop Home and Museum, an aviation museum. I loved the room from the moment I opened the door (big comfortable beds, the colors, real cute) and the bathroom was perfect (clean, homey, and lots of fresh towels). I had read the reviews and since everybody was raving about the cleanliness, I decided to go for it. I was really curious, and excited to see it, and...it’s absolutely TRUE! It IS sooo clean :) It also was very quiet and it felt safe. Loved the old fashioned way to unlock the door.

Owen Sound is a lovely community. Everyone I encountered was very nice and people chat to you and smile. I am not sure of what there is to do in Owen Sound in January but I went to Harrison Park for a walk and then to Inglis Falls for pictures. There are lots of trails in the area.. As for dining out there are many good restaurants to chose from.
We chose Georgian Bay for a long w/e just because we had read about small vineries around the area in a brochure from LCBO and wanted to taste some wines from here. Two out of three were fully booked, so we ended up at The Roost Wine Co., a family-owned, small (just 5 ha) vinery, where the tasting experience is highly recommended. So, going back to Owen Sound, we picked it simply because we found this value-for-money motel (Diamond) which we bet on and eventually we have decided it was a good choice all in one. Georgian Bay - as much as we saw of it - is wonderful, not because of its nature and landscapes (esp. beginning of Oct.), but also because its small towns, which have this flavour of an old era and are a joy to discover. However, reading about the history of Owen Sound on wikipedia, with the piquant & juicy :)) stories of "The Bucket of Blood" and the madam sending her girls (from a brothel) to lure the sailors in; that was delightful itself.
An OK town, Billy Bishop museum is worth a short visit and Inglis Falls offer some nice walking trails ($10 parking). It is at the base of the Bruce Peninsula, allowing for access to a number of lovely spots. We did enjoy Sizzling restaurants in downtown area.
Love Owen Sound. Nice people and choices of restaurants are good for a town of its size Beautiful Harrison Park and lots to do in the area especially if you are a nature lover. Good biking, kayaking, waterfall to visit, etc
It's a nice little town on the water. We were there for a mid-week funeral so we weren't able to really take advantage of the local attractions. The country-side is very pretty in and around the town and there's lots of local markets to explore.
Good place to stay if you want to go wasana Collingwood bluemountain and stay at Owensound next day head towards Tobermory flowerpot island and grotto / Log dump. While return you may go to sauble beach
