This conveniently located bed and breakfast in Pictou is within 591 feet of the Northumberland Strait and Ship Hector Company Store. It serves a free daily breakfast and offers free Wi-Fi. Great furnishings, great history, beautiful breakfast and great hosts. Not your average hotel, it is an experience.
Built in 1840, this Pictou guest house is 1640 feet from the waterfront area, featuring shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities. Each unique rooms offers free Wi-Fi and a private bathroom. Beautiful old home .. perfectly clean with wonderful bed linens! Super comfortable bed.
Overlooking Northumberland Strait, this lodge offers on-site beach access. It is about 4.3 mi from the historic town of Pictou and offers cottages and chalets with fully equipped kitchens. Loved the cleanliness, the view, location, and private beach. Truly enjoyed every minute of our stay!
We stayed for one night and arrived late but we were welcomed and we could visit the other bedrooms to chose the best for us. They asked us what time we wanted to have breakfast. They made recommendations for the restaurants.
I love Pictou! There are great places to eat, a marvellous place on Front Street to buy pottery and other beautiful things. Love to walk along the trail by the harbour (pictures of two herons on Wednesday)and explore the small business and chat with the VERY friendly people. You get to feel at home in Pictou very quickly.
Beautiful town; I had a delightful sunrise yoga/prayer session by the ocean side and met some locals as well. How fantastic of a place. I truly hope you take time to stay here. It is close to Cape Breton Island and a ferry away from PEI. A gem of a place. I will be back, hopefully.
Pictou is a beautiful little town with some nice historic sites, waterfront dining and some cool little shops. Unfortunately it seems that many Food & beverage places have closed permanently over the past couple of years, perhaps due to the closure of the Pulp & Paper Mill and/or the pandemic. But the huge plus is that the air no longer carries a toxic odour.
Pictou is a picturesque town with friendly people. Great beaches nearby and wonderful ocean views. Only place I have ever been where a juvenile Bald Eagle, sitting on a post, was comfortable enough to let us and others get close for a photo op....pretty amazing.....
Pictou is full of character and the 'Hector' museum dedicated to the first settlers to arrive in Nova Scotia from Scotland is well worth a visit. The centre is compact and easy to walk around. A lively little town with much to see. We only were able to stay for one night but would have stayed longer had we been able to.
This is an older (1970s vintage?) motel. The rooms are standard. budget traveller accommodation. There have been some upgrades with the addition of AC and renovated bathrooms. The beds are comfortable and firm. Rooms are equipped with a large flat-screen TV with cable. A small refrigerator and coffee maker is provided. The front desk provides coffee pods. Although located on the main artery to Pictou the traffic noise is low. It is non-smoking, although several guests were smoking just outside their rooms, which was somewhat unpleasant.
We felt really welcome - the hosts were amazing! Thanks to Gabi and Gerhard - you really made our stay awesome! The B&B is a 2 min ride with your car away from the beach (very nice and warm water - for the Atlantic Ocean :) ) and our room was big and clean. They recommended a great place for dinner - best we had in whole Nova Scotia actually.
Right on the water....view fantastic....nice beach area with fire pits....lodge is very pretty inside....had a nice meal there and it was very relaxing and can't get enough of that view! Had a lovely girl wait on us.....very friendly and helpful with meal choices.....would go back just for another meal in the Lodge.....
It was the cheapest with decent reviews for Pictou and they let us check in an hour early. Also the room especially the updated bathroom seemed very clean. TV was good and the bed was very comfortable. It had a microwave and a mini fridge in the room and a nice little closet with hangers.
We liked the hosts, they are very personable, and serve a delicious breakfast. The location is convenient walking distance to the local attractions. We got two adjacent bedrooms and a bathroom for the four of us. This a real old house bed and breakfast, the way it should be.
This Inn is fabulous! The history, the antiques, the owners, the dog, the location... It was a very pleasant surprise in Pictou.
Location was great, area is very walkable. Staff was very friendly and helpful
