The location was wonderful and so was the chalet. The chalet was very clean, modern, and well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to return some day. It was much better than staying in a hotel and competitively priced. It was in a forested area surrounding Lac Saint-Charles just outside the town of Saint-Charles. It was about a 40 minute drive into Quebec City but within easy reach of it due to the good highway/road network. We spent most of our time in the historic part of Quebec City which was also spectacular. The whole area reminded me of Europe and made for a wonderful vacation.

Our stay was magical in every way! The host and hostess were in the heated pool as we arrived and immediately made us feel at home. The room was spectacular with huge windows and a lovely bathroom . We did not expect a 2 hour gourmet breakfast with delightful surprises and adorable company in 2 guests who were Broadway actors. Felt like I was in a movie! Merci beaucoup!

I stayed in this quiet clean inn on April 5, 2023. The place is about 20 minutes or so from the bridge to Quebec City. The house is old which is why I chose to stay there. The old part is being renovated and will be finished soon, but there is another modern section where I stayed that had a super heater, high quality bedding and its own toilet. There is also a kitchen and dining area that can sit about a dozen. For me, it was a special sight to see the old house. I also appreciated the easy going nature of the owner. The owner came to meet me and he had a great little visit and told me where things were and a little bit about one of the first settlements in Canada. I would stay here in a heartbeat again as it has old world charm and character in the old building that is very difficult to see otherwise. For me, it is a 5/5. Anything less would not suit my experience. It was signed well to get off the main road. I told my family about it and they will likely stop there when traveling through. In my view, we need to support such places as staying at x-chain hotel sends the money to corporate pockets (although I stay in hotel chains often as it is required by my job!!)

Easy to find, beautiful location along the St Lawrence, next to a raging river which provided wonderful white noise for sleeping, very impressive common room with full kitchen and living room/dining room with showers and board games.

The character house is beautiful and decorated impeccably in the style of the time. The owners are responsive, patient and helpful. My room was very well appointed. There is a beautiful garden with seating and eating areas. The breakfast was delicious.

Wonderful location and staff were very welcoming. The breakfast was excellent, and Annie, the chef one morning we were there gave us her book of poetry, which was very sweet!
