The people working for the Stratford Festival were beyond friendly - they were amazing. Servers at the various restaurants we visited were not as accommodating - they all acted as if they couldn't get rid of us fast enough.

How can you not like Stratford?
How can you not like Stratford? The theatre makes Stratford a destination that I have enjoyed for many years. The restaurants keep improving and all the people we met made our trip even more enjoyable. The Common had interesting food serviced with friendly staff all dressed in black with pearls. Shopping has something for everyone from The Wardrobe to a wonderful book shop.

Stratford is my favourite place in the world to visit!
Stratford is my favourite place in the world to visit! This latest trip was built around seeing a musical (the fantastic Something Rotten!) but I love this magical town for so much more than what the four amazing theatres offer. Stratford has the best restaurants - and the biggest variety of them - I've ever encountered. It offers fantastic choices of accommodations at all price levels. I features gorgeous gardens and parklands throughout, with excellent walking, hiking, and cycling trails. There are fascinating museums and galleries. The one-of-a-kind shops contain many wonderful treasures. The calibre of Stratford Festival productions are second to none. And I really love is being able to walk just about anywhere I want to go! I cannot recommend the peace, natural beauty, and cultural excellence of Stratford enough.

A pleasant small town even in winter with enjoyable seasonal lights along the river and downtown. A relaxed friendly atmosphere in all the stores and restaurants/cafes we visited. Interesting older buildings in some of the local neighbourhoods.

Stratford isn't just about the theatre from April to October, far from it ! Lots of things to do and see such as 2 symphony orchestras, the choir and the Chef school is a great place to dine from October to March.
I had an amazing stay when I was in town for Stratford Festival from Downtown Toronto. Such a lovely B&B immaculately kept by lovely, and kind owners. I really enjoyed freshly prepared breakfast while chatting with other guests :) I didn’t drive but it was only a short taxi ride away from the festival area/theaters. It was the best weekend getaway from the city. Can’t wait to come back!
