The king-size bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. We loved the "handyman's touch" on the furniture and architectural trimmings. It showed they care about the place. They also quickly communicated with us on email.

Room was warm, clean and the beds were comfortable. There was complimentary coffee and tea, a microwave, and a fridge. Seemed to have been recently renovated. Staff were friendly and helpful!

The location was stunning and quiet, but slightly challenging to drive to at night, up the hill on an gravel road, but the map coordinates from the host were really helpful, and the entrance to the property was well marked. It was about a 20 minute drive into the town of Port Hawkesbury that had food stores, restaurants, etc.

Hiking trails close by.

Hiking trails close by. Less than an hour to Inverness, Whycocomagh or St Peters you pick. Just a little over an hour, 1:04h to Baddeck. Major grocery stores nearby. Fleur de-Lis restaurant is a good family restaurant. The cottage was a perfect home base for exploring Cape Breton. If I was going in winter again I would upgrade to a two-bedroom cottage with a fireplace.
