Alpenhotel Schlüssel, Sonne Andermatt Swiss Quality Hotel, and The Chedi Andermatt got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Andermatt.
Andermatt is a beautiful little town with all the amenities you really need. A well-stocked grocery store and numerous shops, easy train and bus access, a free ski shuttle, rental shops for outdoor gear, hiking and biking trails galore, and spectacular mountain views. Everything seemed to be a 15-minute walk from everywhere, which was very convenient; plus making use of the free shuttle simplified walking times (bus drivers were very friendly and willing to stop and ask if we needed a ride). Everyone spoke English well, which simplified our travel experience. Switzerland is very expensive, and Andermatt is no exception; consider checking menu prices before committing to a week spent dining in restaurants (we had an apartment and cooked more than we dined out). We did have some spectacular traditional fondue at Hotel Sonne’s restaurant (in the downtown), which was a delight.
Andermatt is located in the very core of the Lepontine Alps, close to many passes and breathtaking mountain views. Either in Summer of winter, the town is plagued with amenities, activities and excursion courses. Restaurants and ok and always enjoying the Swiss traditional class. Swiss is expensive, but the trip worths every Franc. I will return thousand times. Switzerland is the only country where anyone may feel at home once you arrive.
Great location for hiking - one day I hiked from Erstfeld to Wassen; the following day I hiked from Wassen to Hospental (Trans Swiss Trail). The train journey down to Erstfeld went through one spiral and two loop tunnels - impressive Swiss engineering.
Unfortunately lost it’s charm as it has changed into a police state where hunting tourists’ Covid-passports and ID is overwhelming. Just grabbing a quick Glühwein or pizza on the go is no longer possible. I recommend you to go to another country where there is no such frenzy. Sweden for instance.
Brilliant ski area, lots of options with a set of connected runs between mountains, with the Oberalp train offering backup if you're tired at the end of a long day. Amazing place and great value for a few days ski holiday. Parking is at a premium in down-town Andermatt, so organise it in advance. We were there in peak covid so the eating options were linked to the hotel we were staying, but it was good food nonetheless.
Very modern ski resort. The convenient location of everything around it. Charming village. Nice dining options from budget to lux. There is a beautiful restaurant on the top of the mountain (reservation only). Nex time I would avoid weekends for skiing early. (peak hour was 9 to 10:30 with many people in line to use lifts)
Nearly Everything!! Incredible location, beautiful decor, stunning room, smelled amazing everywhere….forgot to ask the hotel what they use in the rooms!! Staff were friendly and attentive and made us (English) feel very welcome….not always the case lol. Food was brill, lucky enough to eat at all 3 restaurants, the highlight the Japanese. Spa was stunning. Loved the free to use sledges on the toboggan run.

Spent a weekend in Andermatt towards the very end of summer. The apartments are new and have everything you need, including good quality fittings and a furnished kitchen. An excellent alternative to a traditional hotel.
Andermatt
Very nice family run hotel close to ski lifts and downtown. Negative comments on google seem to be from spoiled people who are not used to the Swiss mountain towns. Great service and food.
It is our favorite hotel for the weekend stays with the family
The scrambled eggs were the best we have eaten at any hotel.
Outstanding hotel... I'd recommend to everyone
Perfect location, right in the heart of Andermatt.
