We went for hiking nearby, so we wanted a hotel that is comfortable but not fancy because we will only sleep there. The hotel was very clean, well maintained, and quiet, meeting all our need. Staffs are very friendly. Restaurant was great. Food are quite nice. They seem to specialize on cordon bleu because one third of the menu is dedicated to different variation of cordon bleu (made my partner very happy).

This hotel has an amazing view, very nice people are working there and the food was really good, including breakfest! The room was clean and cozy, and the view from our window - just breathtaking, the hotel is located in the middle of the Swiss Alps. It's a great place to stay for everyone who likes to go for a trekking, it's easy to go there from Brig, you just need to take a bus nr 624 and then a cable car that will take you up. I like the idea of providing the guests with a little map of the Belalp area and I really appreciate all of the recommendations. It was one of the best places where I have been so far in the mountains :) thank you!

The walk from the cable car station along the panorama trail with amazing mountain views takes approximately 25-30 minutes. There are many walking and skiing trails available around. You can have dinner a la carte at the hotel (there are not many other options in the village). Peaceful and quiet. We had a double room in the attic with a tiny window and two comfortable beds joined. The bathroom was small, but clean. Your luggage can be delivered from the cable car to the hotel, if you book in advance.

It is a family-friendly hotel with a family-like atmosphere. The owner (and staff) were very communicative in many languages and always willing to help. We were positively surprised by the size of the family room (especially the second floor for kids). The equipment of the rooms is a bit simple (but adequate for the category and position of the hotel), but the owner was always able to provide some solution - e.g. there was no kettle in the room, she immediately provided a thermos with hot water. Similarly, the breakfasts - not so wide range of options was provided directly, but the owner was always ready to help. We loved the location - Bettmeralp was refreshingly calm and provided a perfect escape from the hot temperatures of this July, the views (which included Matterhorn in the distance) were great. Trails and cable car stations were nearby. Kids loved the hotel and the village (and Aletschgletscher) and expressed their wish that we spend at least one month there next time.

close to the cable car station..maybe a little too close, as I could hear it operating from early in the morning and its a bit of a contrast with the silence of this mountain village (that was what i was looking for) room with lovely terrace with hamac; clean, comfortable bed, friendly staff that gave me good indications as to the nicest viewpoint of Aletsch, and delicious raclette at their restaurant Aletsch Arena-an exceptionally educative site showing right there under your eyes the effects of the global warming and also showing you some Swiss engineering genius-they built here in 2015 a "floating"cable car station able "swim "along with the moving terrain (the rocks are moving due to glacier melting) VERY INTERESTING! bring your kids ,this will stay printed in their minds forever
