Perfect location next to central train station for the early morning Bernina express. All the staff from reception to breakfast area was very helpful and kind. The breakfast was very good with a big variety. The room was clean and comfortable. Allowed us to check in earlier with available room.

Very nice hotel with a good breakfast and comfortable beds. It is a bit far from center but a big plus of the hotel is that for a very law price you are given a guest card which you can use for public transport all over Chur and have discounts for Brambuesch Bahn and free entrance to some museums and other places of interest. And it is very significant as prices in Switzerland leave much to be desired. The bus stop is a few meters away from the hotel Sommerau. Also, despite the fact that the hotel is in the suburbs and close to the main road, you almost don't hear the noise due to the good isolation.

Loved everything about the property. The attic room was perfectly cozy and spacious for 3 of us. The hotel staff were kind, attentive and very helpful. The spread while limited was tasty and promt. The lady servicing us was promt , kind and attentive. Will visit again the next time when we come to take the bernina.

Amazing view, nice people, clean room. Smooth check in/ check out process. For breakfast we were able to ask for oat milk, so I could enjoy my coffee. There were also vegan musli available, fruits and bread.

Chur is a starting point for the Bernina Express and a major...

Chur is a starting point for the Bernina Express and a major stop on the Glacier Express route. We managed both journeys from there. The town has an interesting history and is very pleasant to wander around. It has a less intimidating feel to it than bigger cities - we arrived in the middle of a local festival parade which celebrated all the local villages which look to Chur as the main town.

Chur is a small town and not much to do in itself but lively on Saturday nights -- seems a lot of people were out in the old town streets. We got there to take Bernina express train, and then go to Zurich.

The city of Chur was good, the accommodations were in a great location but so sparse and minimal we didn’t stay. It is furnished like a youth hostel. Not for seasoned travelers who expect good lodging.

Chur is a start/finish point for the Glacier Express and...

Chur is a start/finish point for the Glacier Express and Bernina Express / Red line. We completed both trips which were spectacular. We also took the train to Arosa for 30 CHF return. Chur has some nice old buildings, plenty of restaurants and shops, and the local museums are interesting and free with the guest card from the hotel.

This town is so quaint.

This town is so quaint. I used to live here and it is a beautiful place with both small city and nature easily accessible. I had coffee at Kaffee Klatsch, walked through the old town, met a friend for lunch at Restaurant Frohsinn and walked up Kreuzgasse to see old neighbors and an amazing view of the Calanda mountain. Don't skip a beautiful walk through the forest at Fürstenwald.

Chur is Switzerland’s smallest city.

Chur is Switzerland’s smallest city. It’s very pretty, and there is skiing. There are also walking paths above the city. This is one end of the Bernina Express, which was our reason for being there overnight- to catch the 8.17 train heading south-east to Tirano in Italy. Being Switzerland, it’s an expensive place, with several high-end restaurants, but we found a couple of schnitzel places which were very nice, and reasonably-priced, in the old town.

The room was spacious, clean and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was modern and well equipped with excellent facilities. Superb breakfast, a delicious selection of fresh and tasty food to start the day. The staff were friendly, welcoming. The hotel’s location was excellent, making it easy to walk everywhere in town and explore Chur’s beautiful old streets, shops and attractions.

We were only able to stay for one night, on a journey through Switzerland. The hotel is only a short walk from the railway station and is close to the old town. We had not been to Chur before and found it very interesting. The hotel was clean, comfortable and had everything that we needed. Our room was quiet and we slept well. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is located in the very center of Chur. The room was very clean, cozy, comfortable, and quiet. Check-in was very smooth, and a huge thank you to Jacqueline Rudolph for helping with all our needs. The breakfasts at the hotel are very filling and delicious. Thanks to the wonderful girl who served breakfast and made delicious coffee.

The location was great, it had everything needed. The coffee machine with heaps of capsules, sugar, milk and Tbags. Great assortment. Easy to find, right next to Hotel Chur, just around the back through an alleyway

There was a bus stop right in front of the hotel and it took 4 mins from Chur station to the hotel. The room was very clean and cozy. Strongly recommended.
