I arrived very late and my parking space was clearly marked and the number to call on the door. Very friendly instructions to get it, my key was at reception with a nice welcoming note and chocolate. The shower is excellent, powerful and warm. The bed extremely comfortable with a perfect weight duvet and perfect thin pillow.

Chur is a starting point for the Bernina Express and a major...

Chur is a starting point for the Bernina Express and a major stop on the Glacier Express route. We managed both journeys from there. The town has an interesting history and is very pleasant to wander around. It has a less intimidating feel to it than bigger cities - we arrived in the middle of a local festival parade which celebrated all the local villages which look to Chur as the main town.

Chur is a small town and not much to do in itself but lively on Saturday nights -- seems a lot of people were out in the old town streets. We got there to take Bernina express train, and then go to Zurich.

The city of Chur was good, the accommodations were in a great location but so sparse and minimal we didn’t stay. It is furnished like a youth hostel. Not for seasoned travelers who expect good lodging.

Chur is a start/finish point for the Glacier Express and...

Chur is a start/finish point for the Glacier Express and Bernina Express / Red line. We completed both trips which were spectacular. We also took the train to Arosa for 30 CHF return. Chur has some nice old buildings, plenty of restaurants and shops, and the local museums are interesting and free with the guest card from the hotel.

This town is so quaint.

This town is so quaint. I used to live here and it is a beautiful place with both small city and nature easily accessible. I had coffee at Kaffee Klatsch, walked through the old town, met a friend for lunch at Restaurant Frohsinn and walked up Kreuzgasse to see old neighbors and an amazing view of the Calanda mountain. Don't skip a beautiful walk through the forest at Fürstenwald.

Chur is Switzerland’s smallest city.

Chur is Switzerland’s smallest city. It’s very pretty, and there is skiing. There are also walking paths above the city. This is one end of the Bernina Express, which was our reason for being there overnight- to catch the 8.17 train heading south-east to Tirano in Italy. Being Switzerland, it’s an expensive place, with several high-end restaurants, but we found a couple of schnitzel places which were very nice, and reasonably-priced, in the old town.

We were a bit disappointed with Chur itself and this may be reflected in my feelings. It was rather like a hostel and going up three flights at our age was challenging (however they dis say there was no lift). Chur itself lacked OK eating facilities so Macdonalds it was. However it was an interesting place with an interesting history and on the bottom floor a smokers' room, one of only three in Chur. Given the cost of hotels I suppose it was value for money

Clean and comfortable, this hotel suited our needs. The staff were so friendly and made us feel very welcome. Our room was a good size, and although there was no bathroom, it was down the hall and not an issue. Location was perfect, in the old town, and a short walk from the railway station. Perfect if you’re there for the Bernina Express, and at a good price for Chur.

Rustic Swiss hotel, very nice and helpful staff, both in checkin and at dinner serving. Big portions and very tasteful. Breakfast included, was also perfect for me with cappuccino served by the table. 10-15 min walk from railway station in a nice part of Chur. Perfekt after a long day in n Bernina Express from Italy.

This is a very pleasant, but fairly basic hotel in Chur My room was set up for self catering, but there were many bars and restaurants nearby, so that wasn’t necessary for me. The room was clean and functional, and the location was good. The staff were friendly and helpful
