This is a walkable city, with great neighborhoods and restaurants. This was also one place where we could mingle with local residents and learn to chat in German briefly. Very nice hotel with just 8 rooms, so well maintained. Staff were exceptional and everything about the room was great. Location is perfect for walking the old town and along the river. Super close to the rail/bus station with easy access to northern Switzerland and into Germany. Several grocery stores (Co-op's) within a few minutes walk. Nice restaurants and shopping. Even without visiting some of the attractions (IWC Museum, Museum Allerheiligen), Schaffhausen is worth the stay. The sceneries from the Munot and of the Rheinfall are magnificent. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. To get to it, you check in at the TexUSA restaurant and walk through it to the back courtyard. I enjoyed the quirky decoration. The room is in the old town and within easy walking distance of the railway station. The restaurant is very popular and the prices are reasonable for Switzerland.
