Take a Fresh Look at Zurich

As the financial capital of Switzerland and headquarters of several large companies including FIFA, there’s a good chance that if you’re in Zurich you’re here on business. But that doesn’t mean this city doesn’t have a playful side.

Known for its cleanliness and fresh air, it comes as no surprise that the luxurious ski resorts of the Alps are within an easy distance of both the city and Zurich Airport, which is only a 12 minute drive from the city centre.

Would have loved to have stayed longer as there is a great public transport system that gives access to even the out of the way places.     The views from the lake are beautiful, lots of parks and gardens to walk around such as Chinese Garden. Public transport boat around the lake is a relaxing and a must do. Restaurants charging 7 SF for tap water is unreasonable when everywhere in Zurich water is freely available from water fountains. Transport is more expensive than expected but we found it to be quite efficient

    We stayed in Zurich, choosing it to be our home base, for 6 nights. If I travel to Switzerland again, I will not stay in Zurich ( too expensive). Transportation is great. The town itself can be explored in 2 days.

    Fantastic.

    Fantastic. The people in Zurich seem content, happy and the country is very clean compared to Amsterdam or Rotterdam. The mountains are amazing and I definitely recommend to do the Bernina line (red train is also good to do, doesn't have to be the Bernina express). I would love to go back again. Make sure you have saved enough money for the trip. Because Zurich is very expensive compared to the Netherlands.

    One of the best cities we have visited; the experience of floating down the Limmat river is not to be missed. The old town area around the river down to the Opera House provides plenty of character and atmosphere with a mirriad of restaurant options. The ability to swim in the river is an indication of the cleanliness and purity of the alpine waters flowing off the Swiss mountains into Lake Zurich which feeds into the Limmert River. Zurich is also home to Lindt, the creators inventors of modern day chocolate, as well as many other attractions. A great city destination

    Marvellous location with views over Lake Zurich. Tricky underground parking but plentiful spaces. Breakfast was one of the best we had on our road trip. We had one of the top floor rooms with superb views of the laje. Hotel staff are a credit to the business. Tram ZOO stop is only 5 minutes away. Downtown Zurich is less than 20 mins away. Had drinks outside while watching fireworks and lightning over the Alps. Would gladly stay here again. It was a perfect treat!
