Ensured we got to the border at Tacna in time for our flight. Breakfast was very filling eggs toasted sandwiches, yoghurt, granola, strawberries, juice, tea/ coffee and toast. Lovely outside terrace for evenings.. ie beer. Surprisingly very quiet too!

Arica has some beautiful beaches to stay and relax a few days. 1 day is enough to visit the city center: Plaza Colon and El Morro. Avoid walk around after sunset. From Arica take a taxi to visit the Archaeological Museum of San Miguel of Azapa (it is closed on Mondays).

The best way to get to the touristic place is by bus or uber, it"s the cheapest. Strongly recommend to families with children Mostly we cooked in the rented flat. It's rather close to Tacna, Peru...no problem to get around there

We were here for four days, hoping for some beach time. But the weather didn't cooperate and we had lots of free time to wander the city but the downtown area is small and doesn't take much time to see. We still loved the area because of the people.

The ocean is so soothing, you can surf or bodyboard in many places along the coast. There is public transport, but we just hired bikes, walked, or took taxis to get around. It's quite a large town which means it has all the big stores. There are a lot of tourists that come through here so we didn't have a problem with language barriers. There is a great vegan restaurant called Eco Centro Vrinda which had some of the best food we've eaten on this trip in a set menu for only $3.300c each! El Morro is right on your doorstep and offers great views of the town and it's also perfect for watching the hundreds of condors fly right in front of you.

Arica is a city full of life and attractions. Shopping is good and the city feels safe. I enjoyed my stay in Arina. I would recommend going there. If you are travelling from Peru, I would recommend buy ChileanPesos in Peru.

The staff is very welcoming, makes you feel at home and takes care of every request you might have (i.e. about tours to National Park Lauca or other). The room is clean and comfortable, and the patio with the tree is full of maps of Arica and surroundings, to give you some ideas about what's worth exploring. And, it's silent at night. I would go there again anytime :)

The hotel is a bit out of downtown Arica but thats what makes it special. It's quiet, has everything you need on the grounds and a front row seat to the Pacific ocean. We found it very relaxing. The food from the restaurant was superb and the staff really does try to please.
