Pereira is a great city to use as a hub if renting a car.
Pereira is a great city to use as a hub if renting a car. The exchange rate allows one to stay at the 5 star hotels located in the heart of the city, on the main street next to all shops, malls and main plaza. Pereira has a functional airport on its outskirts and is also a quick drive to Salento, Filandia, Valle del Cocora or any of the natural hot springs. I love Pereira.
I love Pereira. However, I am biased because my husband is from there. Pereira is a nice city with lots of restaurants, bars and clubs. There are several malls, a couple of which are very nice. The people are super friendly, as all most Colombians. There are lots of taxis. I am very white, lol, and I have never been overcharged by anyone when I was not with my husband or Colombian friends. Some of our favorite restaurants are Zelva and Bianco. Try La Lucerna for breakfast, they open at 9:00am. For a super unique evening dining experience, visit El Columpia Parrilla in Dosquebradas.
